winchester_royal Have to say that regardless of any lack of transfer movement on RFC's part the fans have shown their true colours over the last 24 hours. Embarrassing to be a part of.

+1

+2. Been following 'ReadingFC' search on twitter and some of it is completely bonkers. Spent 24 hours attempting to talk some sense into some of them. That said, a lot of them are only 'being sarcastic' :|

I did that too, was very amusing to say the least.

Why do Reading fans have the collective IQ of a used condom?

On the one hand we have people complaining that we got no one when it's still early days - we can't be sure we haven't signed anyone, and there's also the loan window.

Even more bizzarely on the other hand we have those who assume we havent gotten anyone and are defending it like it's completely normal and acceptable. I trust these people will suddenly go wild with excitement and confusion and start complaining if in the next few days it transpires that we actually spent £10million on 2-3 top players? No of course not, because these brains of Britain surely were lead to believe the same as the rest of us: that we would be strengthening the squad significantly before the close of the window.

That is clearly the problem: what we have been lead to believe. I'd be quite happy with the club saying last season "we need to put our resources into cat1 academy, we won't be buying any players, we just need to build over the next few years etc etc". I think most would accept that. But to be told about 100goals in a season, bouncing back first attempt, strengthening the squad with 7-8 players only to have a net gain of just one good player (after losing two of our stars) just rips the piss IF it is the case hat we got no one.

There will always be those though who think its big an clever to go against the grain of the bleeding obvious, sit on their high horses and pretend this is acceptable and that anyone else is being a big girl's blouse. I'd love to see the reaction of these mongcretintards to 'unexpected' signings if they appear.

It's the arrogant "Oh well we're so smart and anyone who wants the club to do even moderate transfer business is a glory hunter with unrealistic expectations" attitude that annoy's me.

The used condom is a good analogy

The potential for great players is there, but cruelly tossed aside

Not quite sure why people feel the club has such a duty to tell people what to expect, then be held to it. C. 98.5% of what is spoken by football clubs is complete PR guff. This has been the way forever.

I assume they were waiting for him to put pen to paper, and didn't want to say anything before that because somebody else may come in for him before that. Seems like that may have happened.

A striker is still the priority anyway, not a DCM. But that has been the case all transfer window. Am a little disappointed to be honest

Oh lord I am turning into the rest of the TBmongs.

if we have signed anyone, does anyone know realistically when it will be announced.
my understanding on the perm window closing was that even if a deal has gone through right on the wire, that someone ITK would have the info by now. if we have signed someone perm, what factors could there be which holds up an announcement ?
