Nice post Norfolk met, predictably, with hysterical abuse.

So making an effort to experience things is a "narrow view" is it? :|

I guess I should try experiencing all those wonders of the universe via Tim Dellor..............

Ian Royal I bought a season ticket because I was doing alright and I was fed up of sitting on the side lines. I thought we were in for a good season and it would be great value.

I've already seen a game that was better than virtually everthing I've seen in the last 10 years. And in our worst result in 14 years, I had a oxf*rd great time.

I'm not drawn in by the what the club says. I make my own mind up. If you want to be a lamb, led around by the nose taking everything Fox News says as gospel? Well more fool you. Grow the hell up. Have an idea about what reality is, grow a functioning sense of perspective and enjoy the ride. Or shut up and oxf*rd off out of my face.

You miserable git.

On the other hand, you have a very good point. Against Watford we were sublime. Better than 05/06 in performance and if our defence was a bit stronger we would of won that match. However there are cracks when you look at Peterborough and Yeovil (yes we won... but we didnt perform well).

I think we can go up with our without the new additions. Its exciting we are even talking to MoMo!

You get excited that we can talk to players but never sign them?? I would rather we didn't bother in the first place and just say we cant compete given the parameters set. And not announce to the fans we will be bringing in 2 or 3. Adkins clearly doesn't understand the Reading way yet otherwise he wouldn't have announced it. He is too used to working at a club thats ambitious ( Southampton). Thats where we should be at the moment!

Past tense. Had spoken to. That marvelous piece of RFC genius has backfired already.

What happened to the "we only release information when the deal has been done" for Sissoko?

Because they know they did not manage expectations "Looking at getting three more players in etc" and now they want to show they have been doing something. If they really thought Sissoko was going to sign the last thing they would have done was publicise that they were talking to him for fear of the deal being hijacked. The truth is we have an owner who got his dad to stump to buy the club without any commitment on player investment apart from getting 34 year old Jason Roberts in, re-signing Jimmy Kebe (that worked well) and paying a lot of money to a mediocre player so he could talk to him in his own language.

My point is at least JM said he had no money. It is now left to Squeaky to spill the beans that Anton doesn't either.

And JM said that he would only sell the club to someone with DEEP POCKETS because that is what is needed in order to try and survive and push on in the Prem. I couldn't care about the plastic Premiership but it's a bit worrying when you can't even get a decent striker in when that's what RFC are crying out for. It's probably to do with Pog's salary and still being there. If so, then they need to get him motivated and start performing because at the moment we've got to go with the usual "Go with what we've got" or "Got to be the right DNA" lines we've been hearing for (YAWN) centuries now.

Adkins is going to need time and hopefully he will get it to build the side he wants.

Because most people are a bit thick, they probably shouldn't say anything at all - but do you doubt that they were "looking at getting 3 more players in"?

Did you think that because that's what they were looking at doing that they would therefore get 3 players in regardless of whether they thought their targets were overpriced and / or too demanding?

Look back at the main statements a year + ago - those are the ones we should judge the new regime on, not the little soundbites that you (and many others) naively jump on as being the true barometer of success.

The main ones I remember were:

1. We wouldn't have to sell our best players every year to stay financially stable.
2. We would invest in the Training facility and Academy to get Cat 1 status.
3. We would look to become an established PL club within 5 years.

1 and 2 already achieved. 4 more years before we can judge success or failure on 3.

Are you forgetting how successful the club has been, pretty much working within these constraints over the last 10 years?

So much is right about this club and yet still people knock it year after year after year.

It's really odd.

What I don't get is that he's supposed to be a Man City fan, so what's he doing leaking information on a Reading forum? Something just doesn't add up here, and I don't like it. Not one bit.

-moan moan moan why havent we signed anyone, the club is a joke. why havent we been kept informed of what is going on?!
-we are not a joke, weve worked very hard to get players in, but it was very difficult, we are still in the process of looking at free and loan players such as sissoko to supplement the gaps in our squad.
-why are you telling us everything?! i thought we kept everything quiet!

the resigning of jimmy kebe was obv to do with ensuring we got some money for him, and didnt have to let him go on a free
