Will95LWJ Out of interest how does setting off a smoke bomb make an away day more fun? Especially when you set it off and then kick it down the terrace so you can't be caught.
Just gets you noticed I guess, a 'look at us' and if you sing whilst it's going off the spectacle is much more than the usual noise, you get a visual impact as well, it works much better in Europe with the big displays and everyone screaming, I'll admit it does look a little lame with one smoke bomb, but I'd love it if the full thing took off in the UK, like the Liverpool display at Fulham:

Upper West Ginger It's done by juvenile attention-seeking idiots.
It is disruptive, illegal, and potentially dangerous.
It has nothing to do with football.
If anyone lets one off near me I will take great delight in returning it to the perpetrator, preferably up his inadequate little arse.

Will95 as long as we don't adopt the guy at the front orchestrating the chants I am all for it.

Readingfanman I've got no idea how a flare which has never been around in England can be claimed to be claiming back lost atmosphere. If you want to improve the atmosphere, start chants, stand up and make noise. If people don't join in, carry on anyway.

Spot on. And people do join in if they know you will sing non stop.
Will95 Supporting Reading sucks if you want an atmosphere, let's be honest.

I do start chants, stand and sing and what do I get 90% of the time? 'Sit down' or something like that. Do I continue? Yes. Does it improve the atmosphere? No. People, especially at our club, are not interested in standing or making noise.
