Royal Biscuitman I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't think the chairman and owner have the same attitude to investment in the squad.

The director of football, the accountants and those who look after the money report to the board, headed up by the chairman who has always run the club "the Reading way" and you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I wonder if the message from them is aligned to the message from the owner? - Maybe this was Brian's downfall?

I'm not saying the Reading way is wrong, but if the owner says again there was money to spend which wasn't spent then something doesn't add up.

I'd have money on Nigel Howe not being at the club in 12 months time. Madejski uses him as a non-exec director for most if not all of his other businesses. It's rumoured SJM will leave the club after the new year and not accept the new role offered to him as club president. If that's true then it will be a very sad day, but could also mean the likes of Howe's cards being marked, as they are Madejski's men.

I was thinking of a new post for this but thought it's better and appropriate here.

I've a source very close to SJM and these are the facts....

As per the take over contract Anton owes £15m by September 30th to be precise , if this is not paid there is a clause where SJM can regain his majority shareholding.

Worryingly Anton has mortgaged the stadium the raise cash.

There is very grave concern in the club on high about the financial affairs and commitment of Anton. No surprise there.

The recent transfer window non activity caused huge ructions within the board and Adkins backing up evidence of the financial concerns of Anton.

These are worrying times for sure.

Divvy Three transfer windows running we have talked up our ambition and not matched it with money.

The summer started well. Drenthe, Bridge and Williams are excellent signings and thank god two them were free and the other shy of £1m.

Then we did naff all for the rest of the window, claiming through Dim Tellor that we lost out on a couple of signings we thought we had nailed... hmm.

A small section of mindless idiots are blaming Adkins, but how it's his fault is beyond me. He lists who he wants, Hammond approaches Anton and is given x amount of peanuts to get those players. If you want to direct your anger at anyone then IMO you should direct it at Anton Zingarevich!

He his behind McDermott in April, claiming he didn't do enough in either of the previous transfer windows! How we should have spent more, been more active... Well you can't hide behind Adkins this time around, the finger is firmly pointed at the owner this time!

I doubt many would mind the business we've done if it wasn't for Anton talking us up all the time, automatic promotion being a must this season, how we want to be an established Premier League club.. yeah right mate, we all want that but you wont get that with a cat 1 academy and free transfers!

Get behind Adkins and back him 100%, but if you want to vent your anger, aim it at Anton!!

That was some backlash today!

Have you got any links to any these?

Dellor mentioned something about the fans not wanting to hear about the politics behind the scenes. I assume then that he's aware of this apparent board room fallout. If this is true then the manager is on a knife edge, and the future of Reading Football Club is as well. Brilliant!

sounds like Madejski didn't do his due diligence either then if these rumours are true....he said many a time he would only sell to the right person who would have the clubs interests at heart ....appears he may have failed on that one...

Is the land on which the Mad Stad is built freehold? If it is, then presumably quite easy to check because whoever has advanced the money will have put a charge on the property/land and it will will show up through a land registry search?

Does a similar thing apply for leasehold land?

I'm sure we must have someone on here with a decent knowledge of the law of property.

Alternatively this would seem to be a good investigatory story for Charles Watts and/or BBCRB?

I heard from a reliable source that his credit card was declined in John Lewis on Saturday morning. And not even for a huge amount. A few baby wipes, a high chair and some teething gel. These are worrying times.

This is terrible.

What could the consequences be? We may not be able to pay most of the players' wages, no money will ever be spent on transfers EVER AGAIN and we'll be hammered by the tabloids  :o

it doesn't matter if its freehold or leasehold - you can apply to the land registry on line for Office Copies - which will give info of who owns the land, and any charges (ie loans/mortgages) secured against it - cost is around £3.

So just £3 to establish the credibility or otherwise of Gunny Fishcake and his 'source'.

Maybe daddy Zingarevich doesnt give pocket money to Anton til the 29th?

If true is worrying though, I'd assume the rest of the takeover will happen on or very near to that date. Maybe after SJM goes Anton will pump some money into the first team, so then SJM's name is fully out the picture and he retains 100% of the money.
