Macheda would have been such a good addition on loan, coming off the back of successful spells at Sampdoria (14 apps, 0 goals), QPR (3 apps, 0 goals) and Stuttgart (14 apps, 0 goals).

Why the hell are we not signing players like this on loan!!! he is the perfect striking option; tall, quick and skill full and can score goals at any level.
Good to see the Doncaster are showing more ambition than us

Yeah, good to see they've signed a player who's scored 4 goals in 50 league appearances and 6 goals in his 76 appearances in all contests. Sure, he might be great but oxf*rd off can he 'score goals at any level'

Honestly you lot I am so not interested in scoring any points here. I am just telling you what he commented on to me as he knows I'm interested. He said the Chairman and I said but that's John Madejski. do you mean the Chief exec Nigel Howe and he said yes, him, really nice guy.

Well neither of you know much about the club then. Nicky Hammond handles transfers, not Nigel Howe. Apart from the fact I confirmed Howe wasn't at the club yesterday, I can't envisage why the Chief Exec would be sat in the hotel discussing how close we are to a transfer.

Jeez guys you're all so aggressive on this board. I am just passing on a bit of info from a decent guy who thought I might be interested. And I'm sure all the directors , chairmen and board members etc are up to speed with what's going on regarding transfers. Nicky Hammond doesn't operate alone

Is it aggression? Or is it you just getting overly sensitive when someone questions something you've said which is highly dubious?

The reason we didn't sign a striker such as Macheda on loan is that we prefer to use our academy strikers to sit on the bench instead!

From there they should be able to equal his goal scoring record.

I think Foo kin no-wan is a very overrated player and I would rather we played our youngsters instead. So in my eyes signing no one at all would be better than signing Foo kin no-wan.

Surely with a 3 month loan we'd leave it till early Oct so we can get someone for games over xmas and NY.

Thread meltdown at the news of Billy Sharp signing, following the jaw-dropping expense of bringing in Baird for fortnight while he examines his options.

Yeah... lets leave it a bit longer and end up with no one. I'm guessing this was a case of get him early or not at all.

All of this hire & fire and loan bullsh1t stuff

Back in the eighties, it was pretty much 11 out of the same 13 that started week in week out

In the nineties we added a couple more substitutes

These days we have "squads"

Your team is no longer your own

Love football, hate progress (and Chelsea)....its all gone grubby

Come on, we made hugely effective use of the loan market back in the 80's. Who can forget the lasting impact of the likes of Nigel Vaughan, Nigel Stephenson, Nicky Platenaur and Sean Reck?
