Stewarding Pathetic again

by loyalroyaldaz » 15 Sep 2013 12:53

Dont know what it was all about but why the hell were they stopping people going through from the concourses today in the East Stand.
My son went to get food and when he came back they told him he couldnt go through the Y24 tunnel and that he had to go through the Y25 one.
They were checking eveyones and turning people away.
Surely they have better things to do than that !!

I too had my ST checked at tunnel to Y25 - as has been said, half empty stadium it feels pointless.

Also noticed a lot of stewards in y25, rows A-H telling peeps to sit down - not seem it for a while. They spent ages doing it

The battleaxe in Y25 wouldn't tell us why we had to hand over our season tickets as we left the concourse to get to our seats. She was very dismissive and told the guy behind us to show his season ticket or he'll be escorted out of the stadium.

They wouldn't let us in Y26 even though we had tickets for it so had to walk through the rows from Y23.

What evil was prevented by this pathetic show of stewarding strength????????????????

Sometimes I wonder why I pay in excess of £50 a time for me and the bird to come and be treated like mugs rather than 'customers'

Stewards were actually looking for a specific person and I will leave it at that!

The nice steward at the gate asked me if he could look in my bag, I said no and headed for the turnstile so they probably looking for me.

He asked so nicely I thought I had the option to refuse.

In the interests of a balanced argument - the women who checked my ST at Y25 was very polite and friendly.

Maybe you should have found out the reason first before having a go at the stewards. They clearly weren't doing it for fun as they obviously do have better things to do. Now it's been explained why people were being asked for their STs you should rethink the title of your thread. I have always found the stewards to be perfectly decent and fair and often wonder why they put up with the abuse they get from some of the so called 'fans'.

Plus they didn't ask me for mine, so you probably just look like a wrong-un.

Can't work out why it was done there rather than the turnstiles if they were looking for someone specific. Surely he would have been picked up on CCTV and his picture sent out rather than checking for a name.

And there is sod all to stop you going in at Y20 and walking along the stand to Y25 so again pointless and this crap about being the best timw to do it when its a smaller crowd !!
Surely when its a sell out then you couldnt change seats anyway and does it really matter if you change seat so long as you are not not taking somebody elses ?
I have sat in the same aeat every game since the Mad Stad opened and people around me do it all the time.

As I said in the 'pyro' thread it's not to do with people moving about, people who move to Y25/26 don't take people's seats, they stand on the concrete at the back, the stewards know this and don't mind, they stand next to them and in fact can occasionally engage in friendly conversation. This was the same on Sunday, the stewards did not mind people being stood there and it was clearly obvious people being in the wrong seats was not the issue they were trying to resolve.
