Alexander Litvinenko Not sure it's that secret - they sit in the control box and watch what happens.

They aren't in the control box all the time.

I know, only certain matches. Strangely, the bigger or more glamorous the opponent, the more people from SGSA and/or RBC tend to turn up to "monitor the stewarding".....

Stewards were checking every ticket at Y26 from when I got there on Wednesday at about 7.40 til when I went in at 7.55. Got a bit pissed off at the delay standing in a queue for no reason and when the guy said "Y26" after looking at my card, I replied "Yeah, I can read." as I went passed.

Total waste of oxf*rd time.

I am pretty sure I saw someone wearing a Leeds shirt in the North Stand on Wednesday-anybody else spot him ? Do the stewards have the right to throw him out ?

There were a few Leeds fans I work with who sat in the Upper West too. As long as they are behaving cannot see the problem... Lots of Royals went in the home end at Yeovil and it was all very cordial.

I suspect the stewards have the right to throw out whoever they want, whenever they want... so to answer your question - yes.

So why do you need "stewarding" in the first place?

Why is it a problem? It's only a problem if someone's small minded or territorial enough to react to it, or they start acting up and provoking people. Until then, what's the problem?

In a perfect world Dirk. I wouldn't have dreamed of wearing the hoops when I was sat in with B'ham fans a couple of years ago. Firstly because I can't control the reactions of those around me and secondly because it's just a bit rude and antagonistic.

Not necessarily grounds to be kicked out, but i'd be surprised if any fan doing it wasn't moved.

Compo's Hat
Brum Royal The stewards in the East last night just said they were doing random checks rather than doing everyone's card. A lot more relaxed, and no big bottlenecks round the concourse exits

Not sure what your definition of random is but everyone was having their ticket checked a few minutes before kick off. Didn't happen at half time though so whatever they were trying to achieve seemed to be only half done last night.

Like to know where people have complained about people being in their seats as i've never seen it.

We went through a bit earlier than you Compo, through about 7.20 I would guess, and I showed the female steward my card and she said "oh it's ok, we're just doing random checks tonight" and didn't take any notice of my card. I guess they were more interested a bit nearer kick off?

What is the point - if you REALLY want to sit there, just enter through another section and walk along the rows of seats

Indeed, anyone is welcome to 'my seat' in Y26 on the proviso they bring a Thermos flask filled with Scotch and some straws :P

Him and his bird will be stood in front of you blocking your view and knocking back your malt.

Pretty sure it's not a breach of health and safety laws.

I saw that as well and was surprised that no one seemed to give a shit. I did see a woman in a suit running through the crowd towards them a few seconds later though, so I assume someone radioed for a first aider.
