MmmMonsterMunch Every single club will have fans slagging off players on a forum.

However leave it here & get behind them at the game. Really not that difficult a concept to grasp. I doubt he gives a crap about heat of the moment stuff posted here.

I bet he does give a crap about ironic jeering & abuse when on / being substituted though.

I thought we were quite a nice club in general but the last 2 seasons have really shown up quite a few fans that are cnuts. McAnuff, Leigertwood, Blackman, Pog to name a few all getting abuse.

We need to cut it out.

It's nothing new. Andy Hughes and John Oster, to name a few, used to get continued abuse from the fans.
I wasn't on hobnob at the time, so I can only imagine the level of extreme hate that was on here as well.

Only time I've ever jeered a substitution was when Leigertwood got subbed off last year. And that sarcastic applause/cheering was not aimed at Leigertwood, but at McDermott.
As many say, team selection is down to the manager, there's no point booing the player.
I think my actions that day were justified tbh. Guthrie's performances this season have made it plainly obvious that McDermott was wrong to stick with Leigertwood for so long last season, despite repeated poor performances.

But that reaction was a result of a the build up of anger over a rubbish season and a season's worth of annoyance.
I agree with most people, taking digs every match at a player is distasteful and largely unacceptable.

As for the forum: If I think a player is playing shit then I'm going to criticise them, whether it's on the internet or in private. It's reasonable for a player not to expect abuse at a game, but if they go searching the internet for fan opinions then it's their own fault if they get upset at what they find.
