Nameless Having a short spell between a loan ending and the next window is irrelevant as he doesn't necessarily go back on the open market for a few days - we can agree a first option to either sign him on a perm or a new loan deal.

It isn't irrlevant if it means he misses a couple of matches.

If he does indeed sign, great. If he doesn't, meh. We've got Pog now, and if he keeps up his average goals scored for games started so far for the season he's going to score 38 more goals for us... Of course, he's also going to get sent off 19 times which means he'll miss a shit load of games and so then his goals will be something like 16, but whatever.

JIM SIGNED OK but to cover the xmas period dont register him till later,

93 days including today takes us to Christmas Eve.

So that would mean leaving it 'til the middle of next week to ensure the loan gets to January then.

Billy has a really good record at this level. His ratio goals to games dropped at Nottm Forest but if he gets us 10 goals this season I will be happy. Before anyone comments on here, I know his signing is not confirmed.

With these three on top form we should be a match for anyone in this division. Must admit having been near to suicide a month ago am much more confident now, Baird should be a great signing shame about Jem but might be a blessing in disguise. If he hadn´t been injured we probably wouldn´t have signed Baird.
Pretty confident we will get Sharpe,as I said above Nigel seems to know how to get the best out of him. Just hope the second coming of the Pog continues throughout the season, he does seem to want to play for us now. Tim Dellor´s comments were interesting ,as he reckoned the Pog was close to tears, really welled up with emotion during the interview.

We have what look to be six easy matches coming up, should average at least two points a game, so could be 1st or 2nd after them, was a bit worried about Birmingham on Saturday as we always beat Derby but usually lose to Birmingham ;in fact our record isn´t too bad.

28 April 2012 Championship Birmingham (Away) L: 0-2
06 November 2011 Championship Birmingham (HOME) W: 1-0
03 May 2009 Championship Birmingham (HOME) L: 1-2
20 December 2008 Championship Birmingham (Away) W: 3-1 .
22 March 2008 Premiership Birmingham (HOME) W: 2-1
15 December 2007 Premiership Birmingham (Away) D: 1-1
27 January 2007 FA Cup Birmingham (Away) W: 3-2
07 February 2006 FA Cup Birmingham (Away) L: 1-2
28 January 2006 FA Cup Birmingham (HOME) D: 1-1
31 January 1998 Division 1 Birmingham (HOME) W: 2-0

23 August 1997 Division 1 Birmingham (Away) L: 0-3
18 January 1997 Division 1 Birmingham (Away) L: 1-4
26 November 1996 Division 1 Birmingham (HOME) D: 0-0
05 May 1996 Division 1 Birmingham (Away) W: 2-1
11 November 1995 Division 1 Birmingham (HOME) L: 0-1

So hopefully 3 points.

It doesn't need to get to January - just to the 29th December when we play 'boro, so this Friday would be the optimal day to sign him - means he's available for Brum at the weekend, and both post Xmas games.
The only debate in my head would be the Forest game on Jan 1st - I'm guessing we could push through a loan extension to the end of the season, or sign him permanently before midday on the 1st, and he'd be available for that game as well?

What date does the JAN transfer window open officially,? This will determine the registration date.

Midnight on 31st December - I'm guessing there's provision to be able to extend a loan, or sign a player, so they're available for the New Years Day games, on the morning of 1st Jan (signed before midday?)...

Appearances v Goals can be misleading.

Far more accurate to look at minutes per goal

Alfie is currently on

109 minutes per goal (this season),
126 minutes per goal in the Premiership
144 minutes per goal in the Championship and
160 per goal for his whole career

Sharp hasn't scored this year

Hasn't scored in the Premiership

206 minutes per goal in the Championship
173 minutes per goal for his career

POG

A goal every 067 minutes ATM (this season)
A goal every 267 minutes in the Premiership, every 284 in Bundesliga
A goal every 224 minutes in his career, much of that at the highest levels

Snowball Appearances v Goals can be misleading. So let's compare players in a capacity that one player has no record in instead.

Cortese stopped Fox coming here earlier in the summer, so the fact we're close with a loan deal for anyone from Southampton is progress. Adkins taking Southampton to court obviously plays a significant part in their poor relationship.

no1. - we dont have boro on the 29th December we have forest away as its a midweek game.... secondly its the 28th this saturday so he still wouldn't be eligible for the forest game, but either way do we really need him when we have ALF, POG, Roberts (he'll be back by then)

Safe to say we shouldn't factor Roberts in to ANY future plans, as much of a bonus it will be if he makes it.

Loan Max is 93 days. September and November have 30 days.

Billy sharp

Goals scored:Goals scored ratio = 1.00

Roberts

Goals scored:goals scored ratio = 1.00

1.00=1.00

Therefore Sharp is as good as Roberts
