Following the move, Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has drawn a line under Sharp's time at the club and does not think he'll be able to earn a reprieve like fellow striker Tadanari Lee.
"No, not really," Pochettino told BBC Radio Solent.
"He was never a player who was part of my plans. Our squad is closed, we have the right number of players so there is no coming back."

Well at least he knows where he stands...

RoyallyFcuked It was the most likely and easiest option for Adkins but its still good business, especially as the deal will probably become permanent without us having to pay much. Sharp played the best football of his career under Adkins at Scunthorpe but has still proved he can score goals at Championship level without him at Doncaster. He didn't get much chance at Southampton but still scored more than a goal every other game.
Thing look to be on the up as we have a much needed decent extra option upfront. Should mean seeing less of Blackman,

NewCorkSeth We look pretty spoiled for choice everywhere except for defense now.. And our CBs are as solid as they come in this league!
2x quality Keepers - McCarthy, Federici
2x quality Center backs - Morrison, Pearce
2x quality Full backs - Bridge, Kelly
4x quality Center mids - Guthrie, Karacan, Baird, Williams
4x quality Attacking mids - Drenthe, McCleary, HRK, McAnuff
3x quality strikers - ALF, POG, Sharpie
Add to that the back up we have is not half bad and it's hard to find anything to complain about

genome Agreed. Karacan was really off the pace against Derby.
