Adkins is a god manager and theres no point comparing him to Rodgers as the club has totally changed since he was in charge. Yes both managers have/are attempting to change the philosophy of the teams style of play, but only because it is needed. I feel adkins wont fail like Rodgers did due to more financial support within the club now

Maguire
Schards#2 Adkins now has more Reading league wins than Brendan Rodgers

With a wage bill twice the size.

Most of which wasn't his doing.

I would suggest most clubs have seen a huge wage increase in the last 3 or 4 years, it's a weak arguement because it's mostly about wage inflation in the game rather than us spending more on players compared to other clubs.

It's not a weak argument at all. If it helps, let's say he has - relatively - a wage bill twice the size.

So what? The fact Adkins didn't negotiate Danny Guthrie's contract doesn't mean he's not benefitting from his presence in the playing squad.

And where did that team finish that season after we dumped him? Personally I really like Adkins an awful lot, he was always the right man for the job. I never liked Bodgers, he thought too much of himself.

Still I remember there are many on here that wanted Di Canio. What a bullet that was to dodge.

Both superb managers, I'm just glad neither are another Brian McDermott and drop players like Pearce and Guthrie because they can actually coach.

Nonsense. Wage bill under Rodgers was about £20m and it'll be less than £30m this season.

A turn of phrase that was utterly bullshit and misleading you dribbling cock end. Despite being 4 or 5 seasons on I doubt there's much difference at all.

Why compare the number of wins Adkins has with the number Rodgers had as if anything can be gleaned from that whatsoever?

Adkins has extremely well paid players and quite rightly they're in the Top 6 in the league.

I didn't say Schards was talking sense, I said you were talking nonsense. You entered that game by trying to undermine the point rather than saying it was just plain stupid.

Adkins has much more experience than Rodgers had when he joined Reading. Rodgers should have stayed at Watford in my opinion. Walking out so soon after joining could have meant that players here had little respect for him as a matter
Rodgers has done very well though. Happy to see him taking his style and making it work.

Yeah, it's not like Guthrie had been dropped well before that happened and had been spending the most recent games back in the squad on the bench watching inferior players fail to perform Royalee. Stop ignoring the facts.
