Katsia - may you RIP in peace with the angles. Footy's fittest MILF a sad loss to the Mad House.
And we thought Maccy D had been sold a pup by the Bahrainis.

Reading 'comfortable' amid Zingarevich takeover speculation
7 Oct 2013 13:47

The Russian was due to complete the purchase of the club from Sir John Madejski by the end of last month.

Anton Zingarevich has yet to complete his takeover of Reading FC. Anton Zingarevich has yet to complete his takeover of Reading FC.

Reading continue to say they are comfortable with how Anton Zingarevich's takeover is progressing amid speculation he is looking to sell his 51 per cent share.

The Russian, through his Thames Sport Investment (TSI) company, was due to complete the purchase of the club from Sir John Madejski by the end of last month.

He missed the deadline to buy the remaining 49 per cent, however, sparking fears he was struggling to put together the necessary funds, thought to be in the region of £25 million.

Reading have insisted, however, that there is no cause for concern and that Zingarevich and Madejski are both 'comfortable' with the situation.

That continues to be the line, despite speculation that Zingarevich is in talks with a Middle Eastern consortium about selling his share.

The Russian is currently abroad following the birth of his first child and has not been to a game since the friendly with Oman on September 7.

"Continues to be the line" suggests the club don't want to refute the rumour Anton is looking to sell, rather than buy. Good opportunity to pooh-pooh not taken.

Clearly the performace against Oman has scared him off for life. Cant see him back at the Madstad again

Lets be honest - Anton has hardly shown much intent from day one and TBH it's seemed a bit fishy from the outside since his takeover was first announced.

The whole Marussia sponsorship thing would be a bit odd if he's looking to back out.

Did John Madejski stop trying to take the club forward in the 20 years he was looking for a buyer?

The Westcoast sponsorship deal was quite the coup, I'll give you that.

sandman As the financial expert on the BBC Reading fans should be "mildly concerned" even though this can happen in these type of deals so I have no problem with people being concerned. I'd rather see people asking questions and trying to keep these guys honest than the likes of winchester_royal, melonhead and ReadingDave who skip through a field of Daisies tra lalaing accepting everything they're told by the club propaganda machine.

You'd set a new, unbeatable, world record at long jump, breaking the triple jump record at the same time with the leap between "asking questions" about why there's been a delay in the deal completing and the paranoid delusions of the usual witterers on here.

Rationalism please. Lets see some evidence before we shout "DOOM! THE SKY IS FALLING!!!"

BBC: "Professor Chris Brady, a football finance expert, believes Reading fans should be 'mildly concerned' by the delay". In a way it would be a hoot if we did a Pompey after all the serenading Zingy got from the usual bunch of naïve idiots on here!

Not sure about that to be fair. He did bring in Roberts and co which helped us get promoted which would not have happened under SJM. Admittedly, we have not spent much in the windows (understatement to be fair probably would have been the same or tighter under SJM). However, He did spend £25m buying the club, he has/is spending money on the academy getting top status, plans for new training facility and developing our scouting which was fairly basic. Also the connections with Galatasaray and Murussia. Think it is strange if he has done all that with money being tight. Think he is sensibly strengthening our foundations and marketing. I cannot believe that SJM would have sold to him if he was unsure.

I think we just have to wait and see. For me AZ has done a fairly good job thus far. Yes more money in the transfer market would have been nice but he said from the beginning that he was not going to spend big.

If a moneybags arab wants to buy us then hip hip hooray!! Knowing Reading we will find another tight one!

Lol!

The only difference from portsmouth being that we've not spent any money. Hopefully the administrators will notice this and go easy on us.

This is so typical of the absolutely shyte level of 'reporting' that Get Reading/The EP spews out nowadays. It actually tells us sweet FA. They say 'Reading have insisted' rather than naming the person at Reading (if there was one) who made that statement. For all we know, the person doing the insisting might be one of the club apologists on here!

If they say "Reading/The Club say this" they are referring to the press office so a name would be irrelevent.

If they say "sources say" they are talking about someone who cannot be named because the kind of people privy to this stuff will have non-disclosure clauses in their contracts.
