But the club don't want to let onto opponents that Roberts may be near to returning, just catch them out one day/week/month/year/decade/century (delete whichever are the most inappropriate)

Why do you think that most clubs adopt a different view (I agree with you on transfer news) in giving regular injury updates?
Surely it is all part of the belonging to a club that the fans are made aware of the welfare of the players?
I see nothing gained by being secretive about it.

We give regular updates too. I don't know what's going on with JR to be honest.
I just think when it's close to a game and there is a player or two who may or may not be fit for that particular game, I'm 100% with Adkins telling Dellor nothing.
You're right though in a long term general health scenario like Roberts it's good for fans to know, but then again as I say I suspect even the medics don't know. I have no problem with it. I've just written him off as being unavailable.

Steady on! Against a half decent team we were ripping in to him and wanting to get shot. Now he's scored a couple of goals in one game, he's suddenly the bees knees. I love how chelsea fans change their minds every 5 minutes.
