I don't want to add to the hysterity about AZ, but someone I trust implicitly is adamant that "TSI have sold us down the river" and the rumours about Drenthe's exclusion being about pay/performance bonuses are true. I know the lads father quite well and have no reason to doubt what he's claiming.

It's difficult to know what to believe when the club are being so coy about everything. Charlie Watts suggests Drenthe doesn't look anywhere near fit yet, yet you hear Dellor tonight say "we've been told Drenthe is fit".. And Anton might well have wanted some family time with his new wife and baby, but we're almost at 4 months since we last saw him in Reading. That really only does add weight to the rumours.

I suppose the next milestone, if you like, is when we finally submit our accounts. Anyone know when they are due? (maffff, gazza?). Also the football club can only get away with ignoring Anton's absense for so long before they explain a little further why he is no longer here, and what the long-term plan is for the club and both owners.

Thinking of this thread driving past bearwood earlier I was reminded of an interview Anton gave in sports.ru (in Russian) before the take over was completed.

Think he just got a little too into it with promotion & rush and has had to concentrate on his other businesses and new family for a while tbh. I see no reason to panic until we have genuine evidence that there is no money to spend, i.e inexplicably pulling of the training ground or the academy going hugely down hill. Won't take any player movements of evidence of much players always move, and even when desperate it's always happened on our terms.

Anyway, perhaps that's why Daddy has told him to stay away (if that is even true), he has other responsibilities he's neglected. Just a thought.
