Gilkesy's goal against Luton in the Simod Cup final against Luton 1988.

Our first ever goal at Wembley too.

Glenn Little's chip at Plymouth, or Dave Kitson away at Wolves. One a piece of individual brilliance, the other a great team goal

Zana Badawi Id also like to mention the 4-3 away to Forest, particularly the last two goals.

Here's one of them :)

Will95
Big Foot
Will95 Two outright leaders:

Alf's second at Saints - that's the moment I believed we were going to win the league. Mental scenes.

Hunt's at West Ham - see above but replace win the league with going up.

Other highlights:

Alf's first at Saints - no explanation needed really

Gorkks at West Ham - same again

Manset at Brizzle City - that run towards the home fans, we lost my mates bag as we ended up in a different row

Alf's second at Newcastle - finally winning an away game that year, our fans were incredible that day, and this just sent some very drunk people home happy!

Guthrie at Chelsea - TOP OF THE LEAGUE, lower tier was bouncing that day

Edit: forgot Howard and Sig at West Brom - first away win I ever saw, and what a one to see
Modern day mongdiv.

I apologise for not being born until '95.

Quite right too - how dare you!

Zana Badawi Darius Henderson's second at Boro surely.
The only goal that caused me to have a mass stadium embrace, a fist fight at the station and to wake up in Newcastle with the hiccups. THOSE WERE THE DAYS.
Im sure we can also come up with a better Jamie Cureton goal than the one at Brentford. He scored an absolute belter at Notts County which made you thought this guy is a natural talent. A natural talent he wasted, of course.
And then there was the own goal from the halfway line at Grimsby. A real nailbiter as it was out of view for 9/10ths of its trajectory. That and bumping into a guy with the real Tourette's afterwards made this trip especially funny. The fact I woke up in somebody else's clothes makes the anecdote even more worthy.

Id also like to mention the 4-3 away to Forest, particularly the last two goals. 'You're not singing anymore' is usually a bit naff - but not that day it wasnt. It was a right ding dong battle off the pitch as well as on.

And the fifth at Burnley on the day where we so brutalised them. The video of it is too extreme for the internet. Just pure bliss in the stands.

Just wanted to show the TC that there were actually goals worth remembering before the 09/10 season.

Gunnarsson at Blackburn last day of the 06/07 season
Nicky Shorey free kick at Derby September 2004
Kitson's double at Sunderland in April 2005 - amazing scenes

Never been to Blackburn - in fact I've missed all of Gunnarson's belting performances.
Been to Derby several times. Don't remember a Shorey free kick. I do remember Harte's in the fore-mentioned Forest game though. Loved that.
As for Sunderland - went once - rubbish game, completely unmemorable so it cant have been the one you mentioned.

A memory of Bristol City is coming back. Got in the stand 20 minutes early - it was packed but still Reading fans were flooding into the ground up til kick off. 3-3. All goals in the first half an hour with 5 of them seemingly in the first 15 minutes. I doubt any of the goals were particularly good, but a tremendous atmosphere nonetheless.

Also remember being rather excited by an equalizer at Plymouth - mainly because they outplayed us badly that day so we robbed them, but also partly as I was absolutely mullered. The days when Little and Sidwell used to love scoring - I remember how excited they were when we equalized at Hull on a Tuesday game after a Sunday game which, given the circumstances, was a massive point gained.

I recall a 90th minute consolation in a 2-1 defeat at Pride Park where Shorey scored a FK.

And a 2-2 draw at Plymouth in 2004 where we were losing 2-0 at half time.

I'd have to say Darius Henderson's winner at Peterborough a few years ago now. We were behind and came back to win 2-1 with a late goal. Hyperventilation time that one.

I know in the end it didn't really mean anything, but at the time Alfs second away at Newcastle last season was amazing!!! I think it was just because no one even gave us a shout when we went 1 down. The scenes in our end were unbeleivable when he curled that one into the bottom right hand corner - I wish someone had got that one on their iphone.

Two late goals. There used to be a Youtube clip, shot from the Peterborough stands, complete with an old codger giving it the "FFS!" when they had their man sent off. Always used to amuse me.

Nice. Mate of mine woke up the day after promotion at Brentford in 2002 in a skip outside Waterloo station

genome Some weirdo hugged me for about 10 minutes at the Leicester game - bizarre.

One of my favourite things about that game was getting out of the stadium to find one of Team Burbs on his phone in floods trying to explain it to, I guess, his dad.

I went without a ticket really sorted, reliying on the kindness of, well, strangers. Happy days.

"Just give us the oxf*rd scores you wankers"

and then Convey, iirc, sprinting across the pitch to the fans.

PS That Torquay game was PAINFUL, 120 minutes of shit, then a shit goal, and the stadium fell apart.

Harper at Palace the season we got promoted the first time was superb. Just after Andy Johnson had smashed the ball into the stand and won a penalty. That and Doyle at Leicester (even if it meant bugger all in the grand scheme of things) were easily the top two.

Apart from that, McAnuff at Cardiff was pretty excellent as was Church at Bristol City for McDermott's first game.

I will always fondly remember us scoring from a corner in the first Reading game I ever saw in Sheffield, Nathan Tyson running the length of the pitch at ridiculous speed and firing it a cross for Forster to crash home.

Adie Williams scored with a cute dink over the keeper in that game as well. Lovely stuff.

Speaking of Forster vs. Sheff Utd, that's reminded me of that long range effort circa 2003 - cracking strike
