TBM I would have picked Hooper ahead of Rodriguez but i think due to the fact he's playing for a shit team at the moment hasn't helped him

Hooper hasn't scored in the Premier League yet. At least Rodriguez has some current form.

Hoop Blah
Vision
NewCorkSeth Do you think Gibbs is sitting back waiting for Cole and Baines to retire to get that first team spot or by that time will Shaw be better than him?

Personally I think Shaw is already better than him.

And Bertrand to be honest, but I'm not a big fan of Gibbs to be honest.

Gibbs is a very good left back, going forward, but he needs a full season of not getting injured before he is ready to challenge for the England left back spot

He does have all the attributes I guess but I think I'm just a bit blinkered against him because he seems so fragile and injury prone. I'm not sure I've ever seen him win a header mind!

I much prefer Bertrand and now Shaw though. When Cole retires after this World Cup Baines will surely have the position nailed down for a few years with Gibbs or Bertrand his understudy. I think Shaw is probably the one who's going to put the most pressure on him after the 2016 Euro's though.

Isn't Hooper a fully paid up Scottish international?

Agree that it'll be Baines slot for a few years to come, but wouldn't be surprised if he gets more game time than Cole at the WC.

Hooper according to whoscored.com is statistically the worst player in the premiership.

Gibbs god love him is a durn good left back who seems like he will never get much national game time! The fact he starts ahead of Spains number 1 left back should speak volumes about his quality. I agree Baines should get the nod ahead of him but Bertrand? Hes nailed on to move to a mid table prem team and be unmemorable.. kinda like Adam Johnson! Shaw is a real contender to come through and be another Ashley Cole once he moves to Chelsea or Utd or wherever..

When did Arsenal sign Jordi Alba?

I disagree on Bertrand. If he gets the right breaks I think he can really kick on. He'll never be as good as Cole has been of course, but neither will Gibbs, but he's the potential to be a very good Premier League left back and a decent internaional if he makes the most of his ability. He can't afford to not be playing games though.

That's true, I think it's quite a close call between them right now and the run up to next summer will be quite important for them both.

Things is Bertrand doesn't even play even when Cole is injured. Ivanovic goes to left back instead.

Agreed. He's another who needs to move on and play week in week out to kick on, an all too familiar story unfortunately.

It is also, since 1966, took the World Cup champion. He then took not seen it. Although each of the ranking is played Fortunately, that is no big performance.
England is worse. Incidentally, mention is his football shirt:http://www.footballtshirtuk.com/England-Football-Shirt.html . More like polo shirt. Nothing to look forward to.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both start in a game or 2 in Brazil. Baines attacking down the left flank with Cole the orthodox full back. If that doesn't happen then I think Baines should get the nod, Cole has been a very good player, possibly a great, but I think Baines has been better for a couple of seasons now.
