winchester_royal Ooof. Fair fcuks to them, they're putting up a far better fight than the likes of ESPN and Setanta ever did.

Well that cash that they keep getting given by the government, and don't have to give a breakdown of costs, for improving the broadband infrastructure has to get spent somewhere.

Royalist They are making some games, including the final of that and the Europa which they also have, FTA and 'other top games'

Currently get BT for free as i have BT Infinity. Hope this stays the same. If enough people switch to bt internet i reckon it will meaning lots more football for 'free'

From what I have read the CL won't be free to infinity customers like the PL is. Sounds like they have bid well over the odds though. Sky a the experts when it comes to paying money for Sports so I would trust their valuation more than BTs. Look what happened last time Sky were outbid......

Yeah seems it. I hope Sky lower the prices the amount BT put them up....

BT make much more cash than Sky does. Sky are for the first time up against it big time. Next PL rights bid is going to be barmy money ( as if it isn't already)

Well, thanks a bundle again to everyone who beefed that Sky had no competition, meaning there is now more than one viable pay TV outlet, with the end result of the consumer paying more, brilliant stuff.

I don't have (and won't have tbf) BT Sport but if I was a BT broadband customer I'd be slightly concerned that their promise of free BT sport will slowly be chipped away if they get soem take up for this champions league package

One silver lining though, tildesley and townsend must be pretty much fooked!

Not being funny but SKY is pretty decent when it comes to football and their Champions League coverage is superb (having the ability to watch any game) - so unless BT Sport start to offer a 'red button' service (and/or more channels) then its gonna fall on its arse pretty quick.

Best thing Sky can do is make an offer to BT to have it included in their package - then they won't have to worry about changing their prices for customers.

You can already get BT Sport on Sky, I'd imagine this will continue

Don't you have to pay extra for it though (if you're not a broadband customer)?

I read over the weekend their coverage as is will stay free to BT Subs but if you want UEFA games you'll have to pay a little extra.

First time i've ever got the 'extra' sports channels on top of Sky sports and that is because they are free. Will have to see price to see if i do it. Hopefully sky and bt go up and down by the same amount.

Sky offers the service for free, as part of a standard "sport" package.....rather than charging everyone extra to have it.

Not BT Sport it doesn't, or do you mean that Sky don't charge extra for the champions league, which is what BT are planning to do? If so, 'greed, or something

lol, im confused now

Sky make an offer to BT to allow them to bundle their package into a standard Sky package
Sky then keeps charging customers the same amount to show BT Sport games, rather than paying an extra £10 a month to "bolt it on"

Thats what the top tier of Virgin do currently. Doubt Sky will do that but you never know.

Fan at Ajax falls 10m celebrating a goal... reports suggest he landed on his head. Some saying from the 2nd tier?
