Championship: Reading striker Pavel Pogrebnyak positive about club's promotion chances
Reading striker Pavel Pogrebnyak says he is committed to helping the club win automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
The Russia international was linked with a move away from the Madejski Stadium during the summer following the club's relegation.
But the 30-year-old striker, who has bagged four goals in 12 Championship appearances so far this season, remains positive about the Royals' chances of returning to the top flight.
"We're working and fighting," Pogrebnyak told Russian website Sport Express. "Fortunately our bad times we had at the start of the season are over. But, honestly, it could be better now.
"Reading are only fifth and we would like to finish first or second. If we finish lower then we have to play more games (play-offs) and it could mean I won't have a holiday."
Pogrebnyak also insists he has no plans to leave Berkshire if Nigel Adkins' men fail to win promotion, despite interest from back home in Russia.
He added: "I have a contract, where could I go? I try to avoid thinking that Reading won't win promotion.
"I've been attracted by British football during my whole life. I don't want to give up on my dreams. It would be a sign of weakness."

floyd__streete Congratulations to those of you coming round to the fact that Pog is a quality player. Some of you are just a little slower on the uptake, I guess.

Guthrie is also a massive bellend, which has to be factored in.
