Tilehurstsouthbank Is it time Hector came back? Surely a better option that Gorkks? Probably a better footballer than Pearce and Morrison too. Definitely worthy of a spot on our bench.
Lets not get carried away with yet another youngster doing ok on loan again.
At the moment he's not even holding down a place at centre half in an Aberdeen side that has seen little Jonny Hayes start every week. I'm sure it's great for Hectors development, and everytime I've caught a bit of him on the telly he's done quite well (although from what I saw he was playing right back last night), but he's now 21 and he still looks like a lower league player to me. When Pearce was playing in the lower leagues, at what must've been 18/19 I think, he had the look of a defender who was playing below his level, I just don't get that impression with Hector at the moment.
What we need is a central defender with a bit of pace, experience and composure to come in displace Morrison or Pearce to strengthen the team. IMO Hector should be given the rest of the season on load to kick on and continue his development (if we think he's going to be good enough get the contract signed before the loan deal is extended and then next season he replaces Gorks and has his chance to follow in Morrison and Pearces footsteps of coming back from good loan spells and winning a place in the team).
