Extended-Phenotype What I can't believe is that he hasn't made any kind of announcement to this effect, which he would if this was really the reason for the delay in buyout and absence from the club.

Royal Lady Just would have thought as the major shareholder, albeit by 2% or whatever, AZ would want what HE wants going on at the club, rather than leaving it in the sole hands of SJM and Howe. I think I would, if I were him, ensure that Obolensky and the Samuelsons act for the club according to my wishes and be the proactive ones.....

I'd be pretty worried if he disbanded a team that has overseen staggering growth over the last 15 years to install one that had absolutely no experience in running a football club.

Why does it have to be TSI V SJM? Why can't they both be working collaboratively behind the scenes towards a common goal?

Because SJM has clearly lost interest for one.

That's why he's around the club all the bloody time, because he's lost interest.

Of course the poor bloke has lost interest - he never was particularly a "football" bloke anyway. He wanted out, he's getting on now - I don't blame him one bit for wanting to sell up and have a bit of retirement - but he can't because he hasn't been paid all of his money yet - so he's been asked to stick around for the next 2 years and seems to now be running the club again - doesn't mean he WANTS to - but he's not the sort of bloke who would leave RFC in the lurch - unlike, it appears, our new chairman elect....

You know how it is with the Russians and especially the women. No sooner does a sprog get dropped that their whole appearance changes

If he hadn't lost interest, he wouldn't have bothered selling the club - yeah, yeah, he needed money - but he could have sold a few of his cars, art or whatever if he was that badly off - he's no Dave Whelan, that's for sure - and like I said, I don't blame him - but he clearly wanted out completely originally.
