3 points won which really is all that matters but the performance was shocking especially in the second half. Just like Millwall.

Sharp, Williams and Pogrebnyak did well.

Hoping the team actually play well for ninety minutes v Bournemouth on Saturday rather than what seems to be the standard play well for 15/20 minutes then spend the rest of the game desperately trying not to concede.

1st half tidy, strong and by far the better team without ever really being great or getting in behind. Second half ok until akpan came on for williams and then diabolical.

McCarthy 8 nothing too challenging but kept a clean sheet.
Kelly 7 needed to get tighter late on
Cummings 7 saved our ass a couple of times
Gorkss 5 hoof merchant who lost it in the last 10 or so
Pearce 9 rock MOTM
Guthrie 7 tidy but went missing late I n. Not convinced thats his fault
Williams 8 e tra mark for the difference when he went off.
McCleary 7 usual flair and usual going missing
McAnuff 6 not his best but decent. Stop shooting
Sharp 7 good goal
Pog 8 worked his arse off. Candidate for MOTM but we barely touched it for 20 at the end

Akpan -7563 absolutely terrible
Hrk 6 ok ish
Blackman did he touch the ball?

If we'd have played brilliantly and drew 0-0 people would be slating Adkins. Decent result, clean sheet, nothing wrong with that.

"Horrible one-niler" according to Adkins, don't think he's happy with the 2nd half at all judging by his comments.

And predictably BBC Radio Berks gloss over it completely and call Adkins "delighted" with the win.

If you can win and play well, then great. If you win and don't play well then that's fine too, might not be so great to watch for us fans but you get a few of them in a season. The midfield seemed to disintegrate once Williams came off and Akpan came on, I'm still yet to see the point of him

Sorry...are they meant to attack the guy when we've just gained 3 points that have taken us up to 4th?

Adkins himself said it was a 'horrible 1-niller' and that they didn't keep the ball 'anywhere near well enough' in the second half..how much further do you want him to go?

McCarthy made a great save from Church in 1st half stoppage time.

McAnuff clearly ran out of steam last 20 mins. Cummings did well after a slightly shaky start. Also think Pearce looks more solid with Gorkss alongside him. McCleary a first half world beater, but disappeared once Williams went off (as did most of the team). Williams and Pog put in good shifts and Sharp took his goal well. Akpan and HRK - poor displays from the bench.

I wonder about the team's fitness levels - yet again we're decent in the first 45 - 60 minutes, but then seem to disappear off the face of the planet. Maybe it has something to do with substitutions as well. I accept today we had four players who started who have hardly kicked a ball this season.

No, but they can acknowledge what he actually said. He made that point then after the interview they called him delighted with the win... when it didn't sound like he was.

Radio Berks seem unusually positive, like someone's had a word with them.
