BBCRB slated Adkins' selection policy, especially dropping Obita, before the game. I suspect Adkins played McAnuff to give Cummings a bit more defensive support than Obita has been providing to Kelly and Bridge

Can't argue if charlton grabbed a point tbh. We started well and just faded. Seem to lack that killer instinct to firstly finish games and then to shut up shop.

Sharp looked lively and there is potential for a decent partnership with Pog.

I really do not know how Akpan can complain about his lack of gametime, absolute dire effort.

1st half tidy, strong and by far the better team without ever really being great or getting in behind. Second half ok until akpan came on for williams and then diabolical.

McCarthy 8 nothing too challenging but kept a clean sheet.
Kelly 7 needed to get tighter late on
Cummings 7 saved our ass a couple of times
Gorkss 5 hoof merchant who lost it in the last 10 or so
Pearce 9 rock MOTM
Guthrie 7 tidy but went missing late I n. Not convinced thats his fault
Williams 8 e tra mark for the difference when he went off.
McCleary 7 usual flair and usual going missing
McAnuff 6 not his best but decent. Stop shooting
Sharp 7 good goal
Pog 8 worked his arse off. Candidate for MOTM but we barely touched it for 20 at the end

In fairness to Adkins (!), you get games like this every season. Ugly, scrappy stuff where the main thing is to hang on and leave with all three points. And the team did that tonight so we can forget about it now.

McAnuff looked a bit rusty but he still works hard and I prefer him to Obita. Thought Cummings was solid coming into the side although obviously he'll never offer anything going forward.

Overall, some individuals are playing well (Pogrebnyak, Williams, McClearly although hot and cold today) but the side still doesn't look like it really knows how to play together yet IMHO.

People booed the manager when we were winning the game for taking off a guy who's been out for 12 weeks, had put in 2 big shifts in 4 days, and had a niggly calf

I don't usually like to come on here and slate players, but Akpan's performance tonight was diabolical. I don't think he did 1 single thing right - and it was capped off when all he had to do was kick the ball forward to stop their attack, yet he sliced it sideways into touch. Terrible. Hopefully we won't see him for a while until he knuckles down and improves at some lower league club where his level is at.

1st half was good and we had good passing and movement - Williams looked brilliant
2nd half, Guthrie and his passing disappeared, as did the rest of the midfield when Williams came off. McAnuff looked shaken from some of the earlier tackles.

Sharp looks more like the player that the POG needs alongside him as even though i rate Le Fondre - Sharp seems to do more.

3 points and all that, but if Charlton had half a decent striker we would of lost that one

Well we just about hung on but you couldn't have argued if Charlton got an equaliser. Their subs made a huge difference & it was all them.

Best players were Pog, Sharp, Williams & Cummings. Pog did some superb work at the end to set Jobi up & he fluffed his shot.

Much as I'm a Jobi fan, he really didn't do himself any favours tonight. Poor performance I thought.

And Akpan..........well I best not comment!

Still it's 3 points but if we play like that on Sat we'll lose.

Jobi needs to show a bit more composure in front of goal. He got into three good positions tonight and then tried to blast the cover off the ball each time, succeeding in doing nothing other than endangering the fans. he was clearly knackered at the end as well, but we had 4 players starting tonight who haven't played a lot of football recently
