Everton

by TBM » 09 Dec 2013 10:41

I like Everton and at the moment i believe they are playing the best football in the Premier League. They have that balance between strength, pace and skill - i wouldn't be surprised to see them in the top 4 this season

But LOL @ me

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=119275&start=1920#p3732431

TBM I have put a bet on Everton getting relegated this season (nothing personal, was just good money).....

They are doing very well, just shows how good players can be made to look ordinary just by the way the team is asked to play.

Better than Arsenal in pretty much every department yesterday.

Fair play to Everton - always look to take great away support and their away ends' celebrations are usually top drawer. Big big scenes celebrating Oviedo's goal at OT.

I simply cannot take a club team thread seriously without the addition of either LOL or ROFL around appropriate letters in the title.

Moderators, please fix immediately.

Very pleased for a couple of friends of mine that are Everton fans, especially the brand of football that they are producing.
My one grouse about Everton is that they always have loan players with 3 key performers yesterday in Barry, Lukaku and the Barcelona lad.
IMHO Premier League clubs (not knocking Everton but the system) should not be able to sign players on loan-the idea originally of loan players was to cover injuries and more recently to give young players from top clubs the chance to get first team football at a lower level.
There is enough money slushing around at the top level for a team to be built rather than propping a club up for a season and in Everton's case they did get £27 million or so in for Fellaini.

Agree to an extent - but you'd need to do something about clubs hoarding the best young talent. Better for football that Deulofeu is playing regularly than just rotting at Barcelona B.

agreed with Cmonurz.

Plus, if they did what you say, BR, there is no way they would have won at OT and outplayed Arsenal this week.

OK, they might still have won at OT.

Lukaku was shit yesterday i thought - Arsenal contained him well.

Re the loans, Lukaku and Deulofeu are still only 19/20 years old so are young and are getting 1st team football which they weren't at their parent club. Barry was only a loan cos it was so late into the transfer deadline that they didn't have enough time to sign him, i can see him signing for them at the end of the season anyway.

yep, glad someone else thought that, that was his least effective game for them.

Great player normally, of course.

Sort of related, there is little to nothing about Koscielny that convinces me he is a decent centre-back, but however he achieves it, it kind of works.

Lukaku and Deulofeu clearly fulfil part 2 of

the idea originally of loan players was to cover injuries and more recently to give young players from top clubs the chance to get first team football at a lower level.

Tired and isolated. At least twice he couldve got on to the end of through balls if he wasnt so knackered. Or, as the sky commentators kept saying 'he gave his absolute all against Utd'

There was one point where he knocked the ball down the right wing in the first half past Koscielny and was blatantly fouled - no idea how a free kick wasn't given

Bearing in mind there's a thread on Chelsea which, since created, has seen them win the FA Cup, Europa League and Champions League I would have thought Everton fans would be begging you to change it!

Despite what others have written I still think that the idea of having loans between Premier League clubs is wrong-within the current rules yes, but IMHO the rules are wrong.
