SPARTA this shite lump it team

Who won the league the last time they were in this division 8)

LOL @ your little strop. If Adkins goes are you leaving as well :?:

And which team ended up in the PL far better suited for survival there?

I'll give you a clue, they are still there whereas the team that played 'The Reading Way' and got to the PL on workrate, commitment, team spirit etc. came straight back down.

SPARTA
sandman
SPARTA Dolan likes the same brand of football that Adkins likes. He'd get 6 months with this shite lump it team who can't adapt before you all want him out too.

Oh dear. Someone seems a little tired. Has the respect of the players and has had a big effect on more than a few of their careers.

Does he? Le Fondre and Karacan both said after he left that they were unhappy with our tactics (Le Fondre) and how they were utilised (Karacan). I'm sure there would have been others who didn't go public. The direct football was effective, but it was still hard to watch; and McDermott couldn't adapt to the Premier League. Even Leeds fans in 8th are starting to moan about the football.
Which footballer enjoys losing? Of course players were going to come out and moan after McDermott left - you're kidding yourself if you think the same won't happen when Adkins goes either.

Certainly not the team that played on Wednesday. Only survivors being McCarthy, Cummings and Pearce

Oh yes, I forget.....since last time we were in this division we signed the likes of Drenthe & Williams who have played international football and we have Premier League experience in the shape of Baird and of course the likes of Guthrie & Pogrebnyak.

Thanks for reminding me its even worse than I thought :!:

No-one would argue that Adkins didn't do a good job at Southampton.....but no-one would argue he didn't have the budget to do so. Summer transfer window 2012, didn't Southampton spend more than basically any other club in europe :?:

I refer the honourable gentleman to the reply I gave regarding respective budgets some moments ago.

Don't believe me? Ask Wiki:

Wikipedia In preparation for their first season back in the top flight, Southampton strengthened their squad relatively heavily during the summer transfer window, breaking the club's transfer fee record twice with the acquisitions of Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez in July and Uruguayan midfielder Gastón Ramírez from Bologna on deadline day.[10][11][12][13] Other significant additions included Rangers midfielder Steven Davis,[14][15] Japanese defender Maya Yoshida,[16][17] and young full-back Nathaniel Clyne.[18][19]

They spent £30m-£35m, we spent £4m

To both: I know. Adkins didn't really provide great value for money after promotion.

And maybe that huge investment makes a moot point of who went up in the better shape to stay up.

But I don't think it's fair to say they had to sack Adkins to secure safety.

Going by the likes of Blackman, Carricco and Akpan, I'm glad we didn't give McDermott any more than that.

Bookies are just following the money on this one I think....surely Adkins will stay here with the exciting prospect of new owners etc etc.....

Brum Royal If this does happen. Who would we then get in?

Eddie Howe would be my choice I think.

If McDermott had had £35 million to spend and bought those three clowns then he should never have been allowed to work again.
