Cant see a takeover being completed within the next few weeks, so cant see us getting any new signings either for this month.

winchester_royal I suspect that the likes of Samuelson has brought in a fair few more contacts that would have been available to the club before TSI came in, and also the moves the club have recently made to expand their international presence may also have helped.

How dare you suggest that current interest could be anything other than a combination of desperation and fluke.

I spent an hour yesterday morning trying to match the geezer with the goatee in the pic with SJM/Samuelson.

I checked all Sultan Qaboos's nephews and cousins and all the members of the Omani FA and couldn't find a match.

More than that, I checked the very limited info on the Omani SWF and associated companies and still nothing.

The Sheikh Khalifa nonsense is a sideshow - he's rumoured to peg it in the next few months

Ok, Omani name incorrect (source on the sauce!). My bad for not double checking. Omani is on Omani FA board but ISN'T Sk Kalifa, who is UAE. Lead of consortium is on the Omani FA board and is a Prince, not a Sheikh, unfortunately not sure on the name though.

Anton ‏@AZRulesRFC
LOL.. it's almost like you are making this up

David Harris ‏@Handbags82
Somewhat embarrassing having to backtrack but nope, I'm not.

I will be astounded if we sign literally no one this month. It's never, ever, happened before. Even in the most cloth cutting of days.

It appears, though forgive if I'm wrong but some people appear to be confusing
Oman with the UAE. It is not and never has been part of the UAE.: though is
partner in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council)

Adkins confirmed today it'll be this month, the club were hopeful of next week. Guess it'll be done when it's done, but if the club are confident a deal is in place, then I can't see why there can't be a loan in the meantime just as AZ did here in Jan 2012. (it was only deemed a loan in case the takeover fell through, then he got his money back).

At the end of the day, if we don't invest this month, this season is wasted. Adkins told Gooding recently that he needs a big clear-out. Clearly he isn't happy with these players and needs to bring his own men in. It's hard to call him out before he's been given that opportunity, in my opinion.

And if it's not him you'll have bin Hamad, and left in Hamood.

Well he has taken a decent squad and turned them into what we see today. Whose to say he won't do the same with new players?

Not in my opinion. He has taken a shit squad that got lucky - especially when Roberts was fit. Talking of which, did anyone hear him doing his audition for Fighting Talk on 606 last night?

Whilst there is no denying there has been some woeful football, I do think players like Pog, Guthrie , Karacan, Gunter and Blackman are playing better under Adkins than the previous regime.
