SPARTA
jellytot I made a comment on the NA to WBA thread that the players are not playing for NA. One player who is trying is Blackman. He is probably our best player. I cannot believe I am saying that but..

Spot on! He's the only one today and against Forest who showed any fight and willingness to chase everything and run at the opposition. A typical Reading signing of old, and something we are clearly missing.

If only we had a manager who could actually manage players, rather talk a good ideal game in his head.

Sounding like dreadful behaviour from the management team on the sidelines

So Blackman has been our best player and he has been substituted?

And on the pitch. Drenthe arguing with Crosby and refusing to accept his instructions. That's a problem right there! We already had our doubts that the players weren't doing what Adkins asked of them, and there's a prime example!

There are clearly battles going on. In that the coaching staff want things done one way, the players either cannot deliver or do not want to. Plus in the background we have takeover talks, fans split over what to think. For me we have not created much for 18 months. Even when we went up we were a bit jammy in games.

The issues isn't not being able to pass but to receive a ball, control it immediately and see the pass before the defender sees it/closes it down; our players lack the technique to do it - so other teams close us down quickly and win the ball easily .... if you close down a very skillful player too quickly he'll turn you and be past you before you notice it; one of the few who can do this in our team is Royston ... you'll see him receive a ball and control it in the direction he wants it to go and thereby get past his marker ... but most of the others lack this skill.

Shot off target,
We've had a shot off target!!

Only 13:1 shots ratio!! 61:39 possession, Spadkins tactics clearly in the ascendency!!

Be brave Reading board of directors. Accept a mid-lower table finish this year & get rid of the dead wood / gobsh1tes.

No they don't, our players are decent enough. But all of their footballing ability seems to be being bullied/coached out of them.

Dellor is utterly useless. Kelly off, Williams on, and Brighton fans shout "who?" and he interpreted it as booing.

For me this has to be the way forward, unless there is a ton of cash to spend in January. We have to stand by a manager sometime. If we can get the academy really going and passing it (which we are) then give it 3 to 5 years and we should be doing well. I have no problem with a couple of seasons of mediocrity.

Cummings, Kelly, Leigertwood, Pearce, Bridge, Gorkss to name a few. Also Jobi much as it pains me to say it. Perhaps even Drenthe & Williams as well.
