In. Does anyone know if a normal travelcard return from reading allows travel to Watford junction or do I have to buy a separate ticket on the underground?

'fraid not, the normal (only) Travelcard sold at Reading is for Z1-6 (£22.20) which gets you as far as Hatch End 4 stops away.

A standard off-peak Reading > Watford Junction return is £25.20.

So if you wanted to go ragging it' around London on an all-dayer probably the best thing to do is buy a Travelcard plus a Hatch End to Watford Junction return (£4.50) which you can buy at Reading station because it's a London Overground route, total £26.70 so you're paying £1.50 extra to be able to Travelcard it around London for the day as opposed to being tied down to an acceptable through route.

That's great, thanks for the help!
I've not been to Watford away yet, is there a particular pub most Reading fans go to near the ground?

Theres only one pub near the ground, and its a Watford pub. You are better off sticking to the High Street. There's a great pub about a 2 minutes walk away from there which serves good Thai food. Other than that, the Irish bar near the top end of the high street is worth a look in if you fancy an ale.

IN despite all my grouching about the current state of the team and its management/ownership. Couldn't miss a game that I can get to with an Oyster card

Macs Bar seems best place to go for a drink also its 'away' fans only, 5 mins walk from ground.

Not going this time, but on my previous 3 visits the Oddfellows arms on Fearney St is usually a good crack.

Oddfellows is literally a minutes walk to the away end fwiw. Can leave at 2:57 and still get in for kick off.

I think last time I went I went to Walkabout.

Going with GF, friend - his brother and his two young nephews so will have to go somewhere kid friendly.

Moon Under Water maybe
But friend says the one near ground - assume he means odd fellows is meant to be good

Odfellows has always been full of away fans in the past, they opened early when it was random inflatables day at a lunchtime KO, random inflatables everywhere in their beer garden

Macs Bar. 2 min from the ground and always full of Reading. Also does a BBQ in the garden rain or shine.

Macs Bar is the Oddfellows fwiw. It hasn't been called Macs Bar for at least 3 years now.

We brought 943 last time so it looks like more people are going despite the fact that last time we played them we were on a great run of form. Good to see a decent turnout for 2 away games in a row considering our current form.

Agreed, think we should see that as a positive - especially how much people moan about our fans
