RoyalBlue For those who hanker after the old days:

Let's hope Mcdermott uses this in the dressing room before each game as the catalyst to spur this bloody team on .. 'Worst moment in football'he said walking over to this .. 'It was expected'.. What the hell was said at half time then .. We got worse !! Well done Dale well deserved

Written by a Leeds fan after yesterday's game but I can recall similar things being said at certain stages during his time here.

He's a proven and very good manager so the moral of the story is that even good managers can't be expected to be successful in half a season.

He said that loss was the worse of his career

Defeat in a play-off final with the club you've been at for 12 years > defeat against a tin-pot team in a cup that you weren't going to win anyway managing a bunch of thugs

C*nt

I'm not a big fan of Brian's brand of football but he's a worthwhile wordsman and he knows what he's doing in the media and with fans. His statement says two things, one that's he's upset with the result and two, and more importantly he's reminding the Leeds fans that not only did he get his last club promoted as champions he also took them to a playoff final the previous year to that. He's managing the fans through the media.. Take note Nige

Damage limitation, all he can do after that result. But he's managing it without blaming the tea lady

Did Brian say anything about "We move on" in the post match interview though?

He's moved on from that;

"They were good, we didn’t perform - but I will use that as a driver going forward"

He's heading for another fall if he does.
Given the current pitch conditions, either a long iron or possibly a 3 wood would be a much better choice.

Maybe he should've said that they'd "take the positives", that it was "a good workout for the football club" and that it was promising the way they "moved the football around the field of play".

The Prisoner The team is in transition. Ownership all over the place. We have a load of injuries. We are in the top ten. We have potential. We have a manager with a proven track record. We have a manager who has only had one transfer window. We have a manager with a track record for producing intelligent teams who play the right way.

Despite all this, and with Adkins not even having had a full year the Football Manager brigade want a head on a stick.

I honestly despair of the instant gratification demanded by some of you mongs.

If anyone wants sacking it's you!

RoyalBlue More seriously if, as some are suggesting, Adkins has lost the dressing room, then let's get rid of those players rather than the manager. Not many in the dressing room that we would really miss and/or couldn't be replaced.

Totally agree. I don't really have any 'connection' with the current set of players so may as well get shot & get some in that can actually string 3 passes together.

I gave this a lot of thought & in all seriousness who would we miss bar McCarthy? I would miss Jobi a bit perhaps but other than that I couldn't give a toss.

I feel a connection to Karacan, Le Fondre, Pearce and Cummings but even then this is football and you can't be too sentimental.

My friend got some builders in to do build an extension.

They offered a fair price, but he had to buy his own materials.

They started their job, digging the foundations and all looked good until my friend suddenly ran out money and didn't buy any more materials.

The builders were left stranded and had to do with old bricks and deadwood they weren't planning on having to recycle.

Needless to say everything slowed down and it's starting to look shabby at best, with the work suspended only half done. Still they're nice builders and are not complaining.

My friend is not happy though and is thinking of sacking the builders.

Who should he get in instead?

Answers on a postcard please. Use a separate sheet if you need more room.

Thanks.

Brian the builder?

Actually, change that from house to hotel and add in the fact that your mate has sold a number of rooms to loyal customers who have paid in advance and are disgruntled to find their rooms are nothing like the brochure and are blaming the builders and you will be spot on.
