Hello.

There were probably no more than half a dozen of us who were extremely wary of TSI and were (wo)man enough to admit it on here. Didn't mean we WANTED it to fail, just that we had great misgivings. Everybody else seemed to think this would mean we'd be buying Messi and playing European football. Whoever ends up being our owner, please don't get too carried away again.

No, only a few idiots expected big buying and big quick success.

Most of us were cautiously optimistic. And I really can't see how TSI has done us much damage or been any sort of disaster at all, even if it does turn out that Anton's doing a runner.

Hello.

I maintain that writing TSI off on the back of an internet rumour was daft.

Now that we have hard evidence to suggest that Anton is offski I'm happy to conform to your particular brand of TSI scepticism.

(But yes...you win :( )

Big Ern
SPARTA
Royal Lady So, according to Radio Berks - club confirm there has been a bid from US.....hoping it will be sorted within the month.

Forget the US bid. It’s the Omani’s all the way, and it’s for total ownership, as mentioned a while back.

I think that whoever the owner is all we want is it to happen soonest, so some much needed stability can be returned to the club.

I liken the takeovers to girlfriends. You get excited over the first one but subsequent ones are all about the sex. I'm apathetic. Not getting my hopes up this time.

Perhaps funds from father never materialised.

I was taking an interest in this conversation on Twitter earlier. If you look into it it does make some sense of the whole thing:

He was always very keen to say "Zingarevich family" that was a clue. AZ has not got any real money. Something changed which meant AZ didn't have daddy money to play with anymore. Or were we a short term purchase and always intended to be sold on? The price of the club will be VERY interesting... Nothing to back up he's lost interest, plenty to say he's got no money! If you research the Zingarevich families recent investments you might get a clue... [ENER1 is the one outside of Russia. Bankrupt then he fully bought cheap.] Russian Grids... [No the interesting bit is the alleged IP theft from ENER1] but that's not the interesting bit... well it is a bit. That's interesting as well. But if you follow the trail with RG it leads to where AZ is right now... BZ is a director... guess who gets a huge contract 6 months later? It's the company which AZ runs that's interesting and what they have built... look up Energostroinvest and when he purchased it (Dec 2012)... There is a big event coming up in Russia... guess who's building the power plant... which cost more than expected...

Yeh basically, they are heavily invested in the winter olympics project at a town Putin wants to turn into the Riviera of Russia. So more than just building the events going on there.

The guy, don't believe he posts here, makes a very compelling point that the family seem to be neck deep financially in that project.

He just can't afford to be out of the country in the lead up to the olympics while the family is so heavily involved (olympics is next month). And now he has a kid, perhaps he doesn't/ has realised he can't spend so much time in the UK, raise a family and do his jobs for the family businesses as well. Just impossible. Hence, looking to sell.

Ener1, a maker of lithium-ion batteries for electric-drive vehicles and a major investor in now-bankrupt electric-vehicle maker Think, has gone bankrupt itself.

Ener1, which was also making batteries for the Norwegian automaker, said late last week that as much as $81 million in debt will be restructured (see below) as part of its Chapter 11 filing. The company's stock was de-listed from the Nasdaq stock exchange in December.

New York-based Ener1 appears to have been pulled down by the failure of Think, which in September 2009 received a $118.5 million grant from the U.S. government but which still went bankrupt last June. Ener1 last August had to restate its 2010 losses to $165 million from $69 million because of the failure of Think. Think has since been acquired by a group headed by Russian investor Boris Zingarevich, who is also a major investor in Ener1.

Ener1 last September announced changes to its senior leadership team, including the resignation of Charles Gassenheimer, the man formerly in charge as the Chief Executive Officer of Ener1. The president of Ener1 and CEO of EnerDel, Christopher Cowger, replaced Gassenheimer as CEO.

UPDATE: We received the following clarification from Westcomm, doing PR for Ener1:

The story mentions that the company stated that as much as $81 million in debt would be restructured as part of the filing. The $81 million is actually the amount of equity funding the company will receive after exiting bankruptcy. It is outlined in the third paragraph of the press release.

Also, the reporting regarding the grant has a slight error.

Below are some points that will help clarify the situation:

Ener1 is the parent company of several subsidiaries, including EnerDel.
EnerDel, not Ener1 was awarded the Department of Energy (DOE) grant. To date, EnerDel has received 50/50 cost-share reimbursements of approximately $55 million, for which it had to originally invest $55 million of its own funds.

Might just be worth mentioning that the latest information in that article dates back to 2012.

My take on it is that his Dad has told him to stop oxf*rd around with his toys and concentrate back on the family business. Also the one that wears the real trousers has just had a kid and also told him to pack his toys away and spend time in Russia with the family.

All in he's not that much different to the rest of us in that the Mrs and work get in the way of us having fun at the football.

Maybe Anton sucked all the money out of the promotion that he could, and decided that's all he's going to get when we capitulated to Oman.

Couple of questions regarding ownership and investment, do the FFP rules cover the amount of debt a club can have in relationship to turnover and is the investment allowed also restricted in relationship to turnover. Would these new rules stop a super rich owner be allowed to spend shed loads cash ? :?

It's prob the best time for him to sell money wise, he pocketed a small fortune from the promotion, plus we are atill due another 40 odd million in parachute payments, so that alone is good for any investor

£60m in parachute payments, the first one of which is due at the end of the season, but some claim we have received that already via a Vibrac loan (has that been proved or is that merely speculation btw?), as we needed the money to simply get by. No new owner will see the remainder of that money go on anything over than the wage bill.
