Re: Buyout

I am as fed up as anyone regarding the current situation but I don't believe that the club is doomed financially. It makes no sense. We get 20M or so for the first two seasons after relegation and if the worst happens we can massively cut our wage bill at the end of this season by releasing Gorkks, McAnuff, Legs, S.Taylor, Roberts etc. Pog has also had a good season and will be sought after next summer and we could replace them with youngsters. Given this we should be in a very healthy position by next season - even without a new owner.

However, it will probably be a long time until we see the PL again.

The only money that he coud possibly gain via promotion will be potential increase in value of the club as a result of "recent" time spent in the premier league.

The RFC media machine is in full on leak mode then. Probably trying to keep the fans calm as the transfer window draws on.

Or just using it to push the Omani's to complete ASAP.

Possibly. Must be some sort of agenda to it all though. RFC are never normally this open. I imagine they're probably still a little bruised from the battering they took after the end of the last window.

I suspect anyone going through the process of possibly buying the club probably has a fairly good idea about their competitors and are going to look fairly dimly on attempts to get them to panic buy by spin from the club. And I'd rather not have anyone stupid enough to fall for it succeed in buying us.

Of course, but RFC want and need this to go through this month. A little nudge in the way of other strong interest may well push it on.

 ^^^^^ highly seasoned business men are going to be fooled by this.

FFS I work in the recruitment industry and if we are competing for a new client we will know the name of the competitor recruitment company, the rates they're charging, the competitor consultant involved and even the names of the candidates they've sent over. The level of this takeover is a million times more complex so i'm sure they've done their homework

A bit of twatter rumour will not confuse these people.

@charles_watts: I've been told that the man behind the US bid is WWF's Vince McMahon.

Could be interesting if true.

Love this quote: "Vince McMahon, the chairman of WWE described by the Mirror as "a bona fide, 110% certifiable maniac". Will fit right in with the Mad Man, then.

Spookily enough, we're announcing a WWE bill in Riyadh today.

I'd be very surprised if Vince McMahon has anything to do with this. He's built up a multi Billion Dollar industry I the States over the last few decades with WWE that takes up all of his time, and he's not getting any younger. Why would he want to invest in a sport that most Americans see as something played by School kids and women? To cap it off, he's fcuking nuts too!

Oh no!!! Not another millionaire who surrounds himself with glad-handed,non-sensical, douchbag, yes men, whose going to tell exactly what he wants to hear. It might change after Vince McMahon's dead but the fact is he'd just hand it over to his idiotic Daughter and his doofus Son in law and the rest of his stupid family.

See all sound reasons why this Vince McMahon wind-up, sorry takeover, wouldn't happen.
