There was zero chance of him ever coming back here, so nothing to get upset about.

There's a couple of houses to let on our street at the moment. I'll let you know which one Kebe picks.

St. Brynjar This is just heartbreak

The Dream Team!

Kebe is just the sort of signing to excite the fans of a club on a dodgy run and get them back behind the team. I wonder who we've got lined up to do the same for us?

SCIAG On one hand, our experience with Messrs Little and Kitson makes me sceptical.

On the other hand, he's a Premier League quality player and definitely one of the best wingers in the Championship. We should be trying to sign him.

Premier League quality? How is that then? He did nothing for us in the Premier League and can't get in a dire Palace team who are destined to be relegated.

On his good days he's a real handful in the Championship but he's just not Premier League class.

Wimb
Royal Ginger As has been mentioned before 12-13 was the first time he played less than 30 games for us. The idea that he's always injured just isn't true.

Downward trend though and it's something that you do notice with a decent percentage of pacey players once they get into their late twenties and beyond.

2010/11 35 starts
2011/12 30 starts
2012/13 16 starts
2013/14 2 starts

I think the perception is pretty close to reality myself. In 10/11 he still missed over 10 games, although if you go back to 09/10 it really was just a few that season, but he was always brought straight back into the side and took a number of games to get properly back up to speed so, IMO, he should probably have missed more games but McDermott was such a fan he played him when he shouldn't have.

I do agree with the trend you point out though, and it's a gamble by McDermott to bring him in as it'll look like a bad signing if he can't get games out if him. It won't cost them much but perception will be that he's giving jobs to the boys and wasting time, effort and money on a crock. But we all know McDermott wouldn't do that don't we....

Agreed, outstanding 1 in 5 or 6 games at this level goes missing the rest of the time and is not PL quality.

Still BM will get the best out of him and if he steers clear of injury could be the final piece that sees Leeds make the difference in the playoffs.... And we know who' they'd get in the final....

Like your positivity. We won't need to go through that lottery.

Good luck to Jim and Big Mac I hope they see the season out at Leeds.

It makes tomorrow's TV game of Sheff Wed v Leeds mildly interesting especially if Antonio is fit for a change.
BTW what ever happened to Hunt, is he following his brother swiftly down towards the lesser levels of football or is he just injured AGAIN?

by stickywhisky » 10 Jan 2014 22:35

Not really surprised by the news - means we'll see the Kebster before the end of the season

Thoughts? :o

Doesn't play for Reading. Do not care in the slightest.

True he doesn't play for Reading, but the move to Palace seems pointless as he's now at an (arguably) equal club to Reading.
Deal will be perm if they secure promotion

My thought are that he will play 3 times for Leeds then sit out the rest of the season.
How many time did he turn out for Palace ?

Off topic but these comments by Brian were interesting... apparently being knocked out by Rochdale in the cup was worse than our play off final and 5-7 defeat to Arsenal

I'm guessing part of the reason Kebe has gone on loan is to play under McD again, unsurprising Kebe has joined up with him, and I'm unsure he'd have bothered doing so if it wasn't McD. Clearly enjoyed his football under him, never got a game with Adkins in charge I don't think once McD had left the club.
