Nameless Utterly stupid threads like this are the biggest thing to be ashamed of. Are we the most insecure, self loathing set of fans in the country ?
As a contrast one of the things I like most about us (as a 'club') is the way we almost always give ex players and managers a bit of respect prematch.
It's very rare that a player who has played for us isn't given a round of applause (we seemed to miss Halford's name being read out though). Many other clubs it seems to be routine to boo anyone who has played for you and then had the cheek to move on.

Far worse IMHO are the clubs with supposed amazing tradition who now have to 'fake' the atmosphere. Yes, that's you Liverpool and West Ham... your fans could probably manage to sing your iconic club songs without you helping via the PA

Agree with this. Very disappointed with Anfield for this reason.

Anfield is very quiet, but if you are referencing YNWA, this has been played over the PA for over 50 years, it's hardly a new thing.
