Then I have absolutely no idea where I got that from. Maybe a different academy side? Possibly?

Reading WIN!!

Great save from Lewis Ward to win the shootout. He looks a VERY decent goalkeeper as well.

+1 for Aaron Kuhl too, think he could easily captain the first team in the future, looks like a very good captain.

Think Wolves away will be the next tie for the U21's if they beat Watford in their cup

Stonking pens from the lads. Perfect placement. Good save from Ward and got a hand on another.

If Hector isn't future Royals Legend material I don't know what it takes. Not hanging about for his rap... he'd better do it though.

Yep, some excellent pens in there.

Shout out to the club for streaming it live as well. They do plenty of daft things, but their coverage of the academy teams has really stepped up of late.

We should all be tweeting/facbooking/telegraming them about the stream. Let them know that it's a really positive outlet for them. I just wonder how much if anything it's costing them.

I know :(

I asked if the full 90 would be available to watch later but they didn't respond. I'll ask again now.

YouTube part doesn't cost anything. Probably paying for the cameraman but I don't really see why it should cost that much.

Back from the game now and just about thawed out after two hot drinks.

A very enjoyable 3-3. I thought we looked to have more skill and class throughout but Crewe just did not know when they were beaten and came back 3 times. Then 4 brilliant penalties by our lads. Well done to all.

It is probably unfair to pick individuals out at this age but I was again very impressed with Kuhl - who bossed midfield throughout - gave the ball away a few times, but found his man more often than not. My MOTM.

Kelly looks a prospect, but tired as the game went on. Stacey had a quiet game early on but did well creating the second for Kelly and scoring the third. The centre backs looked comfortable on the ball and classy. Owusu scored a great first goal. I did not see why our number 8 was sent off - I was watching the ball - so can someone enlighten me as to what he did.

I thought the goalkeeper’s distribution was generally very good.

Anyway a good night overall.

Or Bristol City. The two clubs play their 4th round tie at Accrington on 4th February.

Well - that was cold!!!!

Correct result in the end. I thought we were a class above Crewe but were too defensive once we were in front which handed them the initiative. Great goal by Owusu who was my MOTM and a great save for the final penalty by Ward (whose distribution was better than McCarthy's). Kuhl also had a good game apart from a few silly errors. Like most people, I did not see why Fridjonsson was sent off but it all got a bit ugly for a while between the players then which was a pity.

Ofori came on a sub and looked lively but had a great chance to wrap things up (at 2-1 or 3-2) with a one-on-one with their keeper but tried to get too intricate and the chance was gone. He also needs to learn more discipline too as he seemed to lose his rag too easily at times. One of our players disappointed with a blatent dive and this should be firmly discouraged at this (or any) level of football.

We did try to play the ball on the ground and to feet most of the time. Crewe were much more 'direct'!! The only way Crewe looked like scoring was from set pieces and unfortunately we gave them too many opportunities for that by senseless and needless little fouls. Again it's a case of discipline.

But it's hard to be too critical as we have to remember that these are U18s. There was great deal of potential on the pitch tonight!

Apologies if it's been discussed elsewhere on this thread (I have had a bit of a look) but what's the furthest RFC have got in the FA Youth Cup?

Fridj? Sounds like a f*cking milkshake, aren't there any half decent British lads playing in the South Chiltern Minor League or something?

I watched 10 minutes of this game last night on You Tube between halves of the Man Utd game and all I can say is.....that is 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Who was the prat with the Sideshow Bob haircut btw :?: Get rid.
