Pog was rumoured to have got a 4m signing on fee. Guthrie and McCleary would both have got decent signing on fees as well as they were free agents when we signed them. People also forget that Roberts is still on the wage bill. Plus we sacked McDermott and all his staff - they would have all had their contracts paid up as well.

Behave!! A £4m sign on fee?! No chance. IF he was on £53k pw, that would mean almost an additional year & half's salary. Doubt even the likes of Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal etc would pay that sort of money out.

Honestly where do people get this sh1t from?

To the OP - do you have the long term liabilities and director's loan numbers on there too? Would be interested to see what those are...

Not that unbelievable.
He was a high profile free transfer, contrary to the title they rarely move for 'free'.
A team like the ones you've mentioned would think absolutely nothing of a £4m signing on fee if they were getting a 1st team regular in with no transfer fee involved.

Cheers RR, are signing on fees in with salaries do we know? It looks like the contracts are what JM means about being stuck with debt. Not enough reduction on relegation. Would Brians pay off be in salaries or one off special?
I heard it cost 3million to lose him in total.

I'm not certain but suspect they would be in the wages figure.

Who did we sign for a transfer fee in the year to June 2013?

Thanks. I don't have the accounts in front of me but from memory the tfr fees were circa £9.5m, so that would be that lot presumably.

Thing is with Pog, McCleary and Guthrie any fees received if / when they move on will all be added to the bottom line (profit) with no offset of any tfr fees incurred on their arrival.

Good use of "Behave" and double exclamation points

Royal Rother
Green How was the purchase of the training ground at Bearwood factored into the accounts - is it a lump sum this year or is staggered?

If it's all this year I'd imagine that would change things quite a bit.

£3m+ addition to Fixed Assets - I assume this would be Bearwood? Doesn't have an impact on the Profit & Loss a/c (bar a small amount of Depreciation).

Has any money changed hands yet?? I thought the acquisition of Bearwood was still subject to planning permission and Contracts have only been exchanged but not completed.

I don't know about Directors Loans but Other Long Term Finance is £40.2m (up from £39.7m)

Also, interestingly Bank Loans are £4,501,194 (up from £26,934) so we are able to use bank loans again after they all had to repaid a few years ago.
And this offset by a similar reduction in short term finance, now £5.1m from £9.1m (Directors short term Loans?)

I don't know. But iirc the accounts showed £3m+ addition to Land & Buildings so, going by what had been posted earlier, I assumed that was for Bearwood.

Sorry to p1ss on your parade but you do realise I mentioned Spurs, Liverpool & Arsenal yes? I.e. not a mid table championship club with a relatively prudent chairman.

Were we a mid table Championship club when he was signed?

I think you are probably correct in that last assumption.

Interesting that the interest on those "other loans" appears to be £360k, so, more than SJM used to charge which was basically nil, but not a prohibitive interest rate as someone suggested elsewhere might be the case.

The £3m addition for land & buildings is probably to do with the CAT A upgrade or media centre. We can't recognise Bearwood as an asset until we actually own it.

another one for the OP - do we know our carried forward losses then?

I'd say a £2.3m loss is a good effort by the club & it's in pretty good health. Especially given the CAT A investment & the clear spike in player wages.

Frustrating OP isn't it - he claims no inside information but on the other hand has offered no indication of source or what other info (if any) was given.

FWIW Green, the accounts have been lodged with companies house. I've downloaded them, but can't really be bothered to go through them tbh.

If that sounds a little unhelpful, remember I've still got enough on my plate what with working out how many games we played in London for each of the c. 115 seasons before 1991/2.
