Royal Lady As for STAR - what is the point in owning such a miniscule percentage of shares? :|
To be fair, I believe they have purchased all the shares they can get - If SJM or Anton were to offer some for sale I imagine STAR would up more (funds permitting).

Also, one share = a place in the shareholders meeting..... although the real meeting will be held offline between AZ and SJM.

The rumour I heard was that Zingarevich has done one with the parachute payment that he got a forward loan on,hence the club has no money currently.

Yes, because that is perfectly possible in a company, especially when the accounts are controlled by a Financial Director

He may have been overcharging things though, but not to the extent you seem to think

Royal Lady Maybe this should go elsewhere, but at the end of last season when we were relegated, wouldn't we have received in excess of £40 million in TV money? Assuming that is the case, where has all that money gone? Is it posible that AZ could have paid himself a nice little bonus with the bulk of it and SJM would have no say in the matter?

As for STAR - what is the point in owning such a miniscule percentage of shares? :|

It's gone on the wages for last year. As has been explained ad infinitum almost every season.

How exactly is it you think we fund a wage budget in the Premier League of £46m? On £9m of Championship TV money from the season before?

Quite clear our director of football is not doing enough in his negotiations with players and their agents given the astronomically high wages we are apparently paying.

I love HNA.

"Wah wah wah, we don't spend enough on transfers, we don't get good enough players because we don't pay enough. Wah wah wah, where's the TV money gone. Wah wah wah"

"The money's gone on wages."

"Wah wah wah, our DoF is rubbish and is giving the players too much money, wah wah wah."

:)

Don't recall you in particular saying the first bit in fairness sandy.

If that had been the case, then we would have sold heavily in January to get cash in and reduce the wage bill

The normal way of getting money out of any business is via dividends. If AZ wished to rape RFC of money, this would mean that SJM would get nearly half. If AZ has made loans to the club (which I believe he has), he could simply call the loans in. Otherwise, he would have to give himself a bonus above his salary as Chairman/Director/Whatever which would have to be agreed by the board.

No firm offers? What does that mean? I thought we had two firm bids.

Amazingly selling a loss making business in a loss making industry turns out to be quite tough.

Spot on. "Can you give the fans any reassurance that the players wont be sold?" "No."

Also good use of Johnny Foreigner by the mad man.

SJM has Reading FC at his heart, I am almost certain of that. However like he said he can't afford to keep it.

I think from what hes said that Anton won't be back, but Anton doesn't seem to be in a rush to sell his 51%. Am I right in thinking if Anton wants to sell out his 51% to an individual SJM hasn't a casting vote?

Either way, it's extremely frustrating, but I am warmed that SJM was honest and made no assurances if we can keep our best players after May. Seems to be the case of get promoted and keep them... Say in this division and you run the risk of a Post Coppell clearout. Normally everyone would go Fcuking bananas at the thought of it, however knowing SJM is trying his earnest to keep the ship afloat is heartwarming.

I also must praise Adkins. Think whatever you want of him, but he is standing by this club when promises have been effectively broken. Did he want Sharp? Probably, but due to the problems he had to let him go to Doncaster. In itself I think that was a worrying sign from the financial side. He's got the togetherness of the players he wants though and that's the main thing. If he can get us back in the Premier League and effectively nullify the above issues, he could be the biggest hero of Reading Football Club since Super Steve's 106

An honest interview given by SJM on Meridian News last night.

He is as frustrated as the rest of us.

Resisted bids in the transfer window for Le Fondre and McCarthy.... Wlll that be the same in the summer when there is still no closure to the Zingaravich saga?
