Starting strongly. I may be being unfair but Fosu reminds me of one of those supremely talented players who doesn't apply themselves properly or have the right mentality to make it. Moment of absolute genius from him breezing through the defence and then dwelt on the ball way too long in midfield trying to do it all himself when he could have easily played a pass several times. Again just now great work, should have laid off to Fridge(?) tried to do it himself and lost it.

GOAL!

Jack Stacey on brink of HT.
After fluffing a good chance earlier.

Stacey scores, but should be ashamed of his celebration quality.

Played well. Some over-elaborate / greedy play. Generally dictated the rhythm pressed patiently and on the balance of play took a deserved lead just before the half.

Fridge showing more than I saw last time. Stacey is really impressing me again. Kuhl solid. Not seen much of Cardwell or as much of Hyam. Fosu is showing more what I saw in the last game. He's an incredible talent though.

3 shots on target for Reading in injury time, after a fairly uneventful first 45 minutes.
Cardwell's shot saved, ball then cleared off the line after a corner (may well have gone over), Stacey scores.

Accrington were playing for the 0-0 so should open up now.

Midfield trio look as tidy as ever, the wingers are a threat, and defensively we seem pretty solid. Hyam in particular is very impressive. Cardwell's done everything he's been asked to do very well imo, but we're not getting the ball to him enough.

Some decent build up play though, the ball retention is very good.

PS   @ Accrington's corner routine. Everyone stand together at the edge of the box in a tableau and then break slowly towards the goal as the ball drifts softly into the normal area. If you're going to have a weird looking start to the routine, make it a bit better than just a fairly standard shit corner with a silly huddle at the start.

As a non local fan I have to ask, is this the usual standard of our youth teams? cuz these guys look bloody good.
