They're tantalisingly close to relegation to the Conference.

Wont be allowed to happen.

However, 14 to 18k crowds at that level, could do a lot of good to a lot of clubs.

Sorry, what's going to stop them getting relegated if they play shit enough?

No need to appologise Ian

But, you just know....like their very existance today.....that another "less historic" team will flout some trivial rule that will help get them re-instated.

Now run along back to your team board mate

You genuinely believe that if Torquay pipped them to 22nd spot, the Football League would invent some rule that would see Torquay relegated instead?

Quite apart from the corruption issue, why on earth would the football league give a shit if Portsmouth got relegated?

I can see an effort to stop them going out of business when they're at the top of the FL structure, because that's hugely embarassing. And certainly the PL don't want a PL club downing down the pan. But by the time you hit relegation from League Two, no one gives a shit because you're no longer high profile. You can just slip quietly away with hardly anyone noticing.

The season ticket number will be an interesting one. Last summer they sold loads at cheap prices as fans who hadn't watched football at this level for 30+ years thought they would sweep up all before them on a procession to the title and the promise of good times again.

Now the reality of a season seeing them humped by footballing giants like Scunthorpe and Fleetwood has sunk in and they realise they could be wallowing in this shite for a few more years, you might start seeing the numbers tail off.

I'll also have some of that. Tickets by the away end. They were very ignorant to their troubles when they last visited our place. They only seemed to care about having an FA Cup in their locker. Watching them drop into non-league would be long overdue!

Rochdale 3-0 Portmouth
Northampton 2-2 Wimbledon

96th minute equaliser from Wimbledon stopped Pompey dropping into the relegation zone last night :x

20 Bristol Rovers 38 -8 43
21 Wycombe 39 -9 42
22 Portsmouth 39 -17 42
----------------------------------------------
23 Northampton 39 -18 40
24 Torquay 39 -22 36

Pompey away to 12th placed Newport on Saturday, Northampton at home to 19th placed Bury.

Northampton have lost just 1 in the last 9 matches and sit high in the form table

Pompey would still have been above Northampton on goals scored.

If we could run a scheme where our motivational BOOOOers could go and be Pompey fans for a match or two it would be great. Win-Win if you will.

As long as we don't take that spactard with the bell in their place

Richie Barkers' job to be "discussed" by the club tonight.

Rumours in Pompey today, include Warnock waiting in the wings
