Uke Jason Roberts has cost us no more money than was originally budgeted for when we signed his contract.

In fact he will have cost less as there would be no bonus payments for wins, goals or appearances.

Both sides have honoured their contracts.

That is all

As for the other side of the argument, I believe the club should have considered suing him.

If the injury is real, which lets face it, it isn't - then it is his responsibility as a professional athlete to recover from that injury. The evidence against him is Jem Karacan who has recovered from a leg break in the meantime (only for it to happen again). Jason Roberts has access to the sort of medical treatment and physiotherapy that we don't, so he really should be recovering. If he can't recover then it is also his responsibilty to ensure that he is in at least part insured against his contract. We should have sued him for that part of his insurance, and paid him off the rest - saving us money in the long run. I say 'should have' as it all seems a bit late in the day now.

Quite why we haven't taken JR to task and forced the issue is the mystery. No-one believed the 'he'll be back in six weeks' news we would sporadically get, and now the OS has stopped issuing the updates altogether. We know this is a busted flush, have known for quite some time, and the club have done nothing to protect themselves from what is happening. To defend JR when he is being paid simultaneously by another employer is defending the indefensible.

And surely there must be some disquiet amongst the other players who do actually earn their wages - especially those earning less than him. We have to prioritise their motivation. I see absolutely no benefit in keeping JR at the club.

What utter drivel.

Yeah, that's right, you'd a thought the club would've spoken to a doctor or the physio in the last 18 months and not just taken his word for it.

There might some relevant points in Zana's post, but it's all moot after the claim that Roberts isn't actually injured, what a fvckwit

FridaysGhost Jason Roberts has robbed RFC every which way but loose! I often do'nt agree with Ian-Royal but here he is spot on. There were a good few players with reputation, ability, etc. etc. who could have been brought in to help with the then promotion push. He did not give us promotion. In the Premiership, with a proper Transfer Window, he would have been 5th Striker anyway. The idea that he should still be with us now, regardless of relegation or not, is risible. He was past his best two years ago without the injury.

What Roberts has proved is that he has little honesty and no decency. It is HIM, HIM, HIM and the idiots at RFC are going to pay for it!

Goodness me. What has Jason done wrong? You make out like he's some sort of criminal here. He's been a good servant to this club, on and off the pitch, and we have a contract to honour regardless of his injuries.

Except he comes across as a bit of a w@nker.

I wouldn't class that as a personal insult as such. Just an observation of his personality on Twitter. A professional person who really should conduct himself better on social media.

He used it to voice opinions that he has no right having considering how easy they have it these days etc.

Got abuse from some Reading fans about his 'injury'
Said only 'true' Reading fans supported him during his 'injury'
I said to him "Reading fans are entitled to their opinion (on his injury), so don't bite the hand that feeds you
I received a threatening tweet back plus he doesn't believe that Reading fans pay his wages.......shows up how deluded he is and the threats sum him up as person.

Plus various other things which many people know about.

What I love about NFA is his selfless and passionate defence of Reading fans, motivated by nothing but his love for our football club.

Remember - you as fans don't pay his Reading football club wages.

What happens is - the club pay it out of thin air.

I will, my knight in shining armour. Who next will you be setting straight for us I wonder? Whatever you do, don't mix the list up with the cast of Desmonds.

The Marauding Kes has a long history of making excuses so as he doesn't have to back up his wild claims. I can't see anything but more of the same here.

We've got to remember that Kes only started supporting Chelsea once Roman came in, he doesn't know much.
