Yes, I recall that fact except it was more cup exists, probably the same thing though - Only one other team were in the cup as long as us and they won it one year so we have indeed been knocked out more times than any other club.

Both are just myths, Although Martin Allen did argue this to the ref at an away game after we turned up in hoops and there was a kit clash, I think we ended up wearing the home sides away kit turned inside out for that game.

It was away at Brighton before Allen's time. 92/93 I think. We had to play in Brighton's away kit due to the ref not wanting us to play in the blue and yellow hoops. Madejski went mad in the post afterwards about lost sponsorship for Auto Trader.

Knowing Martin Allen he probably did argue the case somewhere but can't recall that one

Hatred is the wrong word, and I know the Evening Post never exactly won any awards for journalism but I suppose it's more a sadness / realisation that traditional media has lowered to this.
