SPARTA The guy at the stadium has fatter saggy cheeks and a small nose, the other has a massive conk!

I must confess to slightly misreading this first time round.

We wont hear anything now until the football league pass the new owner as fit and proper. Unlike last time when SJM made the announcement that we had entered into an agreement, this time he will be very guarded and want to make sure all the checks take place before he announces that we have found someone with the deep pockets we didn't actually have last time.. he wont want to make the same mistakes again.

All this talk of Russian assets being frozen due to Ukraine issues is a little worrying.
It would be just our luck for a new deal to be delayed or scuppered by this.

I'm sure with Chris Samuelson there he would send the money to a nice off-shore bank account where Anton's money will be nice and safe.

the fit and proper test has nothing to do with how much money he has, or how deep his pockets are

in fact the test seems to comprise of asking one question: " are you a fit and proper person?"
"yes"
"Do what you like then"

From the last takeover it was shown that the authorities do require disclosure of sufficient funds to run the club. I recall that caused one of the delays as Samuelson had a mini-flid about having to disclose who was involved and for how much and them not being able to retain anonymity.

In the light of Samuelson's unwillingness to disclose who owns things, this makes even juicier reading

http://www.private-eye.co.uk/sections.p ... issue=1361

These corporate vehicles (LLPs) were created by the last government as a sop to accountants who were scared of being sued for dodgy audits post-Enron, and their ownership can be easily concealed behind offshore shell companies. As the last Eye reported, several thousand are owned from Belize and the Marshall Islands and other tax havens – sorry, centres of corporate excellence. The LLPs garner the respectability of British incorporation, at the same time filing patently false accounts at Companies House with impunity.

No doubt now that the same scams were used with us. It just seems our guys were crap at that too

Yes it does. Amongst their various checks, what ever they are (and they're clearly not anywhere good enough), they request proof of funds; hence why Boris Zingarevich was also vetted during TSI's FAPPT. Anton alone did not have enough money behind him, hence the initial delay.

Think it is safe to put this up now. Heard from someone that also knows contacts of JM that the club are seriously struggling to pay the contracted wages to the end of the season. Always a difficult time at a club if true, players will be looking towards the summer and moving on, taking risks and getting injured is not an option for them now.

How is this possible? The club doesn't have massive debts ... surely it could just borrow some money?

but he obviously didnt have enough money, hence his disappearance, so the test is still daft and pointless
