I agree with Andrew, I`ve seen far worse games this season. I thought it was a good contest that could have gone either way between two decent ball playing sides.

Having seen the highlights he did have to thrown himself at it. Like ALF's first miss, you'd expect better, but it's not inexcusable or an easy chance.

On the handball I don't think ALF had a chance of getting his head on it, certainly before the keeper got a hand there, so it wasn't like it was a crazy decision that cost us the game.

I don't think any of our chances were as easy as their one on one. If our finishing was poor, their's was utterly clueless.

I thought Akpan ran about 30 yds to make it into the box, so thought he did well to get there. Not as bad as ALF's miss

That's the way I saw it too. I didn't think that he had any chance of getting his foot on the ball so his diving header was the only option. Judging from the reaction of the fans immediately after, I think an awful lot saw it the same way too. Generally there seemed to be applause for a valiant effort, rather than the groans and heads in hands that greeted the ALF miss.

So it was a deliberate attempt to cheat and therefore no different from deliberately diving. Hopefully Adkins will have fined him for it.
I'm also p*ssed off that he gave us the false hope, with our initial celebrations being turned into disappointment when the ref ruled out the 'goal'!

Not a fan of that sort of cheating, but would you be complaining if the ref had missed it and we'd won the game? He took his chance and got punished. I'm not sure a yellow is enough for that really given the impact it could have.

Yeh, said that at the time. Why is deliberately stopping a goal with your hand a red, but deliberately scoring with your hand not?

Because scoring a goal gets ruled out, and therefore the overall impact is nothing - 0-0. However stopping a goal means that the opposition team have been robbed of a goal and you're still at 0-0, when it should be 1-0.

Yeh, I was more thinking along the lines of the attempt to blatantly cheat, and the impact if it's not spotted. Same as diving I spose.
