I met a chap called Alan something or other the other day who played 200 odd games for RFC in the late 70s before moving to Derby. He was a painter and decorator now and a massive pisshead. Also a bit of a sex case. He was telling me a story about getting through 13 prostitutes in 24 hours in Amsterdam. And banging Robin Fridays ex missus.

Saw Jimmy Wheeler walking round the garden centre in Arborfield with Gordon Neate about a year ago. Jimmy says he still gets invited back to Bradford as a guest ( he managed them after leaving Reading). Gordon Neate was our right back before becoming our groundsman. He was infamous for putting the wrong mix of fertiliser on the ground at Elm Park just before the start of the season. The result was no grass and meant Reading having to play their first 4 games away from home! They were joking around saying how jimmy couldn't head the ball but he was always our top scorer.
