Oh, and Newport once subjected me to a 15mihite rendition of Chumbawambas Tubthumping. They were 0-3 down in 20 minutes and having a party (Spytty Park, Justin Edinburgh's first game in the Conference). If was pretty good actually!

We're going to need a new one soon as 106 is going to sound a bit hollow after Leicester have got 111.

SPARTA Catchy and noisy.. exactly why we wont have it.

"Since I was young
I followed THE
The RFC
The Team for me

la la la la
la la la la
la la la la

la la la

(repeat)"

Please don't sing this anyone, it's dreadful.

Le Fondre's song should be to "The Royals Anthem" (sing for the royals)

la la la la la
la la la la la
Adam Le Fondre
la la la la

Easy to sing, scans and is unique

The other normal Adam Le Fondre chant is so much louder and better. And another point just because a chant is unique doesn't make it good, and most clubs take songs from each other so I don't know why people complain..

You obviously weren't at Bristol City away for the 3-2, therefore you do not know and have to shut up.

We should just sing the Royals Anthem on repeat for 90 minutes.

Does anyone remember Shaka What's the Score? Not the chant, but an actual song that was made? It went something like this:

We stood and watched our heroes languish in the fourth division,
Steve Death defying all the odds to keep us in the game,
Charlie Hurley took us up but only for one season,
But he signed Robin Friday so we can't really complain...

Shaka, what's the score? Shaka, Shaka what's the score?

Robert Maxwell did attempt a Reading-Oxford union,
We stopped Thames Valley Royals, thanks to Roger Smee,
Ian Branfoot gained success with his long ball strategy,
We won at Wembley, then went down and parted company (a few years later that is...)

Shaka, what's the score? Shaka, Shaka what's the score?

Porterfield was here a while we never mourned his parting,
While we waited for the master mind of Mark McGhee,
He brought us total football with the emphasis on passing,
Until Leicester came a beckoning into the Premier League,
But we've got Mick and Jimmy we don't miss him any more,
We're on our way to glory, Shaka, Shaka, what's the score?

Wouldn't it be better if it was

'I don't care about...'
They don't care about me...
All I care about...'

So it rhymes.

1871 not 1998
sandman Yeah again, maybe it's the pain from my stomach, but I'm still not quite getting it. You're accusing people of not being prepared to copy others and then acknowledging that we copy others.

It's all very well talking about these things on the internet but there is only one place where you can get songs going and they can catch on.

My point is simple. Our support is dreadful. When any decent chants are suggested, they always get shot down on here because others sing them, or they're deemed chavvy, or because 'we don't want to be another one of those clubs copying the rest'. Me, well I like noise at games, so it really would be nice to take some of these on occasionally or dare I say it, alter something so it's different enough to be ours.

LOL at not using chants because they are 'shot down' on an internet messageboard inhabited by mongtards.

The 'So Happy Together' chant should definitely be the chant we adapt. Easy for everyone to join in and no one has used it in England yet.

But for a hooly song:

There we were just smashing up the street
Singing do wah diddy, diddy, dum diddy do
Snapping fans fingers and using our feet
Singing do wah diddy, diddy, dum diddy do
From the hoods
(From the hoods)
Is that the time?
(Is that the time?)
Time to riot and cause some crime
Before I knew it I was caught by the police
Singing do wah diddy, diddy, dum diddy do
do wah diddy, diddy, dum diddy do
do wah diddy, diddy, dum diddy do

And repeat.

Michael Hector - ?

They will hate it, but their names fit with the tune to YMCA..... actually, every player in the squad's name fits in with that tune except Wayne Bridge.

maffff PSV - So Happy Together http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAHEZrX6mSA
Tiny Tim
Bring back Terry and June
From the same game bring back Floyds "Jonny Fordham takes it up the arse" and multiple variations of chant... still applicable, or for Nick Gutteridge from the Chronicle. Lol, Gutteridge.

These especially So Happy Together because it's easy for people to pick up, isn't offensive for families so they will join in and it makes a good chant when lots of people sing it together.

I'd like to see the Y26 Scope Patrol belting this out:

Reading4eva is a c*nt is a c*nt,
Reading4eva is a c*nt is a c*nt,
and I know, you know, everybody knows,
Reading4eva is a c*nt is a c*nt.

It doesn't quite scan, but if we all try and bang our Reading FC branded clap banners on the beat it should mask any issues with the rhythm.
