Starting the thread without being at the game? Poor form on a poor night...

This whole 'concede first, fail to win' run is getting a little bit ridiculous :|

"That was embarrassing" sang at the end. And it was. Can't believe I paid to see that. Pearce, Obita and Akpan nearly ok, everyone else shocking. McCarthy and Gorkss stand out poor. I counted 163 Barnsley fans (which is a fair indicator of the quality).

Barnsley weren't any good, Gunter howler and two strikes from nowhere, we were just awful. No creativity at all. Defence just launched it, and they beat us to every ball.

Barnsley are the second worst team I've seen this season. Us being the worst, obvs.

No midfield. Defence was all over the place. No attacking threat. Awful.

Usually shit players get away with it by trying hard, but Blackman, christ. No effort, no ability.

Even my bff Gunts was shit tonight.

And Nige, God help me. Clearly wasn't working in the first half, desperately needed to change it at half time.

Just got back. Total shambles of a performance. It started off with the first 3 touches from Gorkss, delayed pass and the ball rolls out to touch, pass to Barnsley then a slice out for a corner McCarthy followed on a similar vein.

That set the scene for the entire team to continue to misplace passes and get over run by a tidy but pretty ordinary Barnsley side. The first goal was a defensive shambles, but the second and third were pretty decent Barnsley shots, I bet they couldn't believe their luck.

Roysten missed a sitter, then the keeper made a fine save from a header. That was all I saw before storming out in disgust.

The performance was so bad I'm worried about the next few games unless we get Williams back.

Shambolic. But before I get into the crucifixion a word on our general home form. Is it any wonder the team looks nervous when at the first sign of a mistake and the fans are on their backs. Gorkss slice early on was horrific but to have sarcastic cheers when we completed the next few passes and people screaming abuse at him hepls no one, especkally so early on with little harm done.

however, nothing excuses that display.

goal 1 terrible decision from mccarthy to roll it out when so many barnsley players were still forward. Awful back pass from Gunter.
goal 2 pearce stood off and invited them to score. Gunter too buzy complaining about not winning a freekick.
Goal 3 can't ac y ually remember anything other than it was shambolic again. But well taken.

Mccarthy 4 poor distribution and at fault for a goal
gunter 4 at fault for at least 1 goal and terrible passing and control
obita 5 just generally poor
pearce 4 poor passing atrocious heading and at fault for a goal +2 for actually giving a shit about being poor though.
gorkss 4 hoof. Poor passing and poor defensively
akpan 4 turned into trouble all the time and no close control
mcanuff 5 one good run couple of decent balls in but lost in midfield
mccleary 3 leaden a d anonymous. One run. Thats it.
blackman 2 couple.of nice moments he then totally oxf*rd up. What the hell was that shot.
drenthe 5 only one who looked dangerous but terrible delivery.
pog 5 worked hard but generally poor.

alf 5 nice touches but no service
hrk 5 not as bad as most the rest

Would've rather seen him than HRK. Wouldn't have done any harm to stick him on for the last ten.

If he doesn't shake things up in the next few weeks I'll be agreeing with that latter point. Absolutely no point going up playing the way we are, with the players we have. Stop playing the past it, and not particularly good, Gorkss ahead of Hector. When we only have one available senior CM don't just stick as many wingers on the pitch as possible and hope it'll be okay, play one of our much fabled academy products who NA's so happy to rave about.

It's all very well getting these smash and grab away wins, but if we want to move forward as a club we need to be building a team that is able to domin8 a team at home that is the worst this division has seen in quite a while.

You're teetering on the edge here Nigel. Action is needed, enough of the bullshit.

Yup, shambles from the back to the front.
Pearce was making a proper effort, as was Jobi.
Gorkss had a complete mare and Morro can't come back soon enough for me.
McCarthy looked complacent so time for Federici
Gunter was ok apart from giving away the first goal (small point but...)
Drenthe looked like our best threat so why he was taken off is a mystery
Our strikers, all three of 'em did not have a shot on target except the penalty.
Akpan gave the ball away far more than he won it.
MCLeary was AWOL
Blackman has yet to have a good game in a Reading shirt and to me, looks out of his depth.

This team is nowhere near ready for another stint in the PL.

Not a single home player goal from a Reading player in 5 home games since Blackpool, every away gain is followed by a home set back, that was desperately depressing viewing tonight, what`s more worrying is the that we are still in a play off spot following that shambles.
I`m dreading the thought of Leicester and Burnley coming here

Partly agree, but what money would you use? There will be a clear out but to cut extortianate expenses.

I now agree it's time for Feds. McCarthy's dropped off something chronic.

I don't understand why McCleary spent the whole game on the left, even when HRK came on.

I love Gorkss, but he was having a shocker from the off. We really needed Hector at half time.
whole performance lacked effort.

We'll be fine against Leicester and Burnley. It's the shit teams we can't handle.
