I stopped buying papers regularly along time ago but still occasionally bought the chronicle - boycott in place now

That was about 15 years ago; not everyone on here is as old as we are, m9.

Nick's probably on gardening leave!

Superbly handled by Madejski again, what shame the playing staff don't echo his pride and passion for the club.

LOL 8)

Absolutely deserved, not just for printing it, but also for refusing to back down over it even after it had been rumbled!

Fair play to them for the full and frank apology.

Should it be trademark "through" the years? Sounds a bit clumsy as it is but maybe it's just me.

I assume the much feared and secretive Scorpions were behind the forced the apology.... I hear they're like the freemasons of hooliganism.

Reading 1-0 The Chronicle (Own Goal, but credited to John Madejski)

+1.

Shoddy journalism. I'd like to hear SJM's views on it.

As newspaper apologies go that's pretty comprehensive. As I said before, symptomatic of the lack of checks and balances in local newspapers these days. The fact that this reporter's mates were slapping him on the back (metaphorically) on twitter after the article came out illustrates that only too clearly.
