Because they are my local team and I found the experience entertaining.

At what point does one decide they're going to stop going because it's not working for them any more? what if the following game is an actual humdinger? which we win?

I guess a prolonged period of being bored, resulting in missing more and more games because you've become easier and easier to talk into doing something else more fun, gradually declining your attendance down to f/ck all without really noticing.

I've gone less this season than last season and to be honest I can't see me being that fussed next season at all - not really enjoyed the football whatsoever; been a few decent days out but would have been as good (if not better) going out in (any) town for a bite/beer/kneesup/gathering - football isn't really the important glue for me.
