dizzynewheights Just to remind the hoards (not read the thread so apols if already mentioned) the stewards at Charlton make the Gestapo look like err... Reading fans and the local po po will take a very dim view of you trying to enter the ground if you've had a few.

Too right - glad I'm not going.

Anyone know if The Antigallican does food?

If not, anywhere quick to get food there, like a fry up or something?

Green I think you're a few years out of date there dizzy.

There'll be no Battle of Maze Hill at this fixture.

Not sure what any of that has to do with the stewards tbh :|

Try the valley cafe. Owned by jem karacan's family I believe.

Poor beer selection and no pork scratchings in the Antigallican. Not happy. (Would go back for away atmosphere though).

Away atmosphere = 10/10

Roughest pub I've been in, in ages

Beer = £3.70 a pint :shock:

Fair play to Charlton for serving booze through pretty much the whole game. Only closed up with about 20 mins of the match left.

Probably had to in order to justify the massive police presence.

Good day out and no complaints at all about the stewarding. As far as I could see nobody asked to sit down even those standing on their seats. Great atmosphere in the Antigallican but what a dump!!!

Got to ask why there was so many police outside the ground. Had they been reading the Chronicle recently???

For future reference, row A is the third row.

We played there in a drab match in 2007ish, 0-0 on Easter Monday. One of my m8s was hammered and as he walked up to the turnstile, a steward asked "how much drink you had young lad?". He replied, "Not e-fuckin-nough" - bundled away from the ground without even getting his ticket out :lol: :lol:
