Without doubt.

Anyone who says they wont go is an absolute lesbian.

Shocks me that any Reading fan would contemplate not going unless they have a legitimate excuse like being on holiday.

Anyway, we'll lose in the play off semi's.

Yeah I'll go

In all honesty I won't be too upset if we lose because promotion will mean we'll get a battering again week on week like the last time.

rattled a few cages there liam,
reasons to not go, shit place to get to,to dear, we always lose, shit beer and far to many glory hunters and we always lose.

i said after the last one i would never do it again.

I will be there because i have been asked to work that weekend and watching us lose is preferable to that.
I want us to go up as losing to chelsea is better than losing to barnsley

wally bassoon My ideal season at the moment culminates in a play off final loss.

The prem is not that enjoyable, get a good day out on the pi$$ at Wemberley and the club make a lot of money.

So in, if we get there.

I can not understand, for the life of me, why people are happy in the championship. Just winning in the Premiership is incredible, and you can take it a game at a time. I'd rather beat Man United or Arsenal just once, and even if that season we went down, i'd be happier than ever as a Reading fan.
Drawing with Chelsea was the biggest buzz i've ever had as a Reading fan.
Beating Everton a couple of times at home or when we thrashed Tottenham is second. oxf*rd the football league and Peter Beagrie

Not going to a game and wondering how many we will get dicked by.
Having kick offs at 3pm on a Saturday
Even if we do squek a result, being patronised by all and sundry.
Being able to predict the top 4/6 at the start of the season.

I really enjoyed our first season up there but we are even less prepared this time round than last and I reckon we could get less points then Sunderland did that year.

I just quite enjoy the Championship,

Couldn,t agree more Wally.

Binfield Royal
liamobey I've been to 3 playoff finals.

The second one in Cardiff hurt more than the first.
The Dido song "Thank You" montage at the end of the highlights I taped, bringing me to floods of tears every time. Cureton's little smiley face after scoring the first. The Darren Caskey unused sub incident.....and I still don't know what Pardew was doing starting Jimmy McIntyre.
Anyway. The first Wembley I was a bit too young for it to really hit me, and I was way too excited about the new yellow goalie top than I was about the game in the end.
The last Wembley one just made me numb......I was back at Paddington by final whistle, tbh. Chasing the booze.

I will not be going this year if we make it. I'm glad to say that I'll be on holiday. I am not going to anymore games this season and it's pointless going to the semi's because if we do make the final I won't be able to go.

Just wondered if anyone else is in this situation and if anyone's just satisfied watching the games on TV these days?

There is no oxf*rd way that I'd miss it having been three times and had my guts wrenched by defeat three times. Just how shit would it be to write it off and choose not to go only to miss our first play off final victory!? That would be wrist slittingly bad.

To be honest I don't think I'd go even if we were favourites.
As my old Grandad says, who's been a season ticket holder since 1955; If they're gonna win Lee, they'll win if you're there or not.

Basically your bitter that you would miss it and trying to come up with reasons to make you feel better. If I had holiday booked I would cancel for the Play Off final.

Wasn't born for Simod cup win so seeing us win at wembley remains at the top of the list for me so would never miss that chance.

I think fans of smaller clubs value a win at Wembley more than quite a lot of things. Some people will go through their whole life supporting a club that might not even make it to wembley so to pass up that chance of going and potentially winning there is out of the question for me.

I would be there even if we had lost 10 play off finals.

*you're

and no. I've already explained. I don't understand why everyone keeps saying I'm bitter. I have already stated that I'd prefer to go on holiday and that I'm fine with not going.
You would cancel a holiday? That's mental. But fair play. I would never do that....well maybe if i didn't have a missus and a little'un. :)

Someone said to me once as I was rushing to kick off; "The team don't care if you're there or not, they're still gonna start the match. Chill out."

A couple of online dictionary definitions for fanatic :

A person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal
A person with an obsessive interest in and enthusiasm for a particular activity

Oh god - I've gone and opened up the whole Fan v Supporter debate again

liamobey Someone said to me once as I was rushing to kick off; "The team don't care if you're there or not, they're still gonna start the match. Chill out."

For me it's more about the "I was there" moments - Plymouth 4-3, beating Wolves away 3-2, Blackpool away 4-0, "Eddie Smith/Irvine change ya name" away at Walsall

Case in point the Cardiff PO Semis last time - I went to the home game but couldn't get to the away game and the feeling that I missed out was huge

PS Having to "rush to kickoff" is more evidence of your poor planning for the matchday
PPS Not being able to go to the Cardiff away PO game is evidence of mine

95, nearly suicidal, got back to Reading, went for a beer, thinking the last bus was 11.00 . feck its a bank holiday, walked all the way to southcote in the pouring rain, hardly noticed it I was so down.
2003 , I was on my way back home from holiday so missed it, called my mate from the airport, he told me it was it was 2-3 with 5 minutes to go, had to wait till I got home to find out the awful truth .
2011, great day out, spoiled by a awful first 45 minutes, defeat in big games always leaves an empty feeling, while not as bad as 95 it still damn hurt, train back to Reading, bus home, by 9.00pm
If we make it this year its very unlikely I will be able to attend because I work every Saturday till early afternoon. be a bit of a pisser to miss a play off final win after all the disappointments

Hell yes. I'll be right there supporting them. I think watching Reading finally win a f*cking play off would be just as good as the actual reward

Having travelled back from Columbia last time we got to the play off final, and having been to the Bolton and Walsall finals, I can't really see myself paying a few thousand quid for a flight of 12 hours to see us loose again.

95 - Gutted, remember celebrating at half time as if we were already there.
2003 - Bought tickect but had to attend family do in Derby, sold ticket to Withrington Royal?
2011 - Great day out, absolutely smashed, $hit first half. If I could be bothered to look for for it, I would insert the gif of that plastic going mental at the second goal. Just imagine it is here.

Definitely going to the away play off semi leg and then Wembley if possible, managed to get tickets last time so should be fine. Despite that being a sad day that I don't want to experience again, I would still have to go because if we do go up its one of those "I was there" special days.

WRT the 2011 play off, still have nightmares about Karacan hitting the post and the ridiculous block from Hunt on the rebound at 3-2. Only Reading could get so close to the most epic Wembley comeback of all time. :-(
