BraisingsteakRoyal Fancy Brighton to win at Leicester tonight, which would change the outlook a little bit.

Players have probably been on the p1ss since Saturday, and teams often fail to win their 'homecoming' match.

Except us, who won 5-0.

St. Brynjar Reading 0-3 Leicester
Wigan 4-2 Reading
Reading 2-0 Boro
Doncaster 0-1 Reading
Reading 1-1 Burnley

8 Points from 6 games. Any of the chasing pack would need 13 to nab a play-off spot, which I think Brighton will do.

LOL @ our run-in. Top two to come at home - a venue where a Reading player hasn't scored from open play since January - and a nailed-on loss at Wigan.

If Brighton don't overhaul us on that basis then OscaROFL GaROFLcia will have managed to do an even worse job at Brighton than Adkins lame effort at Reading. Ipswich were nowhere last season so they have done ok just to be involved, Forest one of few clubs more shambolic than our own, Bournemouth have over-achieved in their first year up. Be nice to think we could pinch Eddie Howe when Adkins goes in the summer.....but that would hardly be a step up for him these days :!:

After today's defeat, Forest now drop out of the race.

It's now 2 from Wigan, Reading, Brighton, Ipswich & Bournemouth. We will probably be 9th by the time we face the champions elect at Madejski Morgue on Monday night.

The 3 in the chasing pack should all secure 3 points today:

Brighton v Charlton
Ipswich v Doncaster
Yeovil v Bournemouth

:(

outside the play-offs, Brighton just pushed us out, Blackburn and Ipswich just a point behind as it stands, Bournemouth losing

We really could do with a win on Monday. That would potentially put some pressure on Wigan too as we'd only be 1 point behind.

But we won't so I don't know why I just posted that

I look at Brighton's run in and think.....if they don't make the play offs over us...they've really fcuked it up!

Hmm not sure. Huddersfield away will be hard - they're no mugs. Forest away could be a banana skin too. Forest will be completely relaxed with no pressure. You just never know.

2-0 now though

The fight for the play-offs

by windermere_royal » 12 Apr 2014 16:29

This thread should be on going as we scrap and probably fail in our quest for a play-off place.
As it stands we are sitting in 8th place after both Brighton and Ipswich have gone above us, with Blackburn (winning.one point behind) Watford (winning) and Bournemouth (losing) all making late surges it`s not looking good with our tough run in.

Reading Dave will be a very rich man if they do make me the playoffs.

Unlikely as it seems, if we can get a draw with Leicester we go back into 6th on GD though.

But we do look to have the hardest run in and whilst our recent overall form isn't terrible or anything, the home form is a big big worry. We were in poll position and we're now right back in the pack and you have to say our confidence just looks far too fragile to go on any sort of convincing run.

Worth nothing that Huddersfield now down to 9 - so 2 of their usual starting 11 will be suspended for their game v Brighton.

Tuesday really was the beginning of the end.....

Well.....if Bournemouth get another I'll have won myself £100. Was hoping doing an accumulator with all our rivals winning would have the opposite effect to this mind!
