I’d like to think I’ve been glass half full for much of this season but the last week has morphed me into Floyd. I still can’t snap out of it now.

Even with RTG’s fully on, there is not a cat in hell’s chance we will make top 6.

It’s uncanny how ours & QPR’s season has virtually mirrored each other. Their finances are slightly more mental obviously but what a shambles for both clubs.

It is very possible that none of the 3 relegated teams will go back up despite all being given a record amount of parachute money. What a delicious irony that is.

Never mind "glass half full", you were down right deluded.
But as I said when winchester_royal jumped ship: fair play for admitting that you were wrong.

I'm still backing Adkins for now though. I want to see what the summer brings when we inevitably get rid of a lot of players. I echo Schards sentiments from earlier - the players ought to take their share of the flak for their performances.

To give balance to the argument, there have actually been a few games where Adkins' subs have done well & we've performed better in the 2nd half.

In addition, there have been some almighty howlers from various players this season. You can't blame the manager for everything... although his line up for Tuesday was completely wrong IMO.

I don't think many people are saying he's done a particularly good job, just that there are other factors that have played a big part. The thing with our current position is that we can afford to give a slightly under performing manager time to see if it's just taking him longer to implement the vision that he promised, than was expected or if he really is just not up to the task. We only tend to take the quick decision when relegation is a threat, otherwise we give time.

You could argue that sacking Rodgers and McDermott was possibly premature, but the fact is that we have a track record of giving managers more time when we're certain of not being in a lower division the next season and that's often paid off.

There's a lot of work to do, but I don't see any reason to go kneejerk and bin Adkins. I'd rather we persisted another season and struggled a bit, having to part ways then, than became a club that goes through a manager a year expecting instant success.

Anyway just back from coastal tour of Bournemouth & Pompey, so first chance to post on what I witnessed on the evening of Tuesday,8 April 2014.

Firstly, to say, this was the first time Ronnie & Reggie have left a game mid way through the second half when it became abundantly clear that the team were simply down for some sea air. Mind you we weren't the only ones and ended up being closely followed by 5'O', who seemed to think that we were looking to cause some mischief. Ah well, doesn't look like it'll be long before we're put out of our misery. Don't mind a team losing as long as they've given it their all and sweat blood for the cause. This 'event', if you can call it that, was nothing short of a digrace in terms of performance levels. In fact serious consideration should be given to us all having our ticket money refunded. Members of Drenthe's family were sat behind us. When we left we shook their hands and said you're welcome to this. And what do you know? ST renewal letters came through this week. It's almost ironic.
